06.01.2022 It seems the scammers are ramping up their efforts again. We have had several clients in the last week or so, calling in a panic, believing they are about to be arrested by the ATO. In one instance, they requested the details of our clients accountant, then had a female scammer call the client a few minutes later, claiming to be me (Jessica). My client promptly informed them that he knew me quite well, and that I most definitely did *not* have a foreign accent. WE CANNOT SAY... THIS ENOUGH - The ATO will NEVER call and threaten to arrest you. If you receive a call from the "ATO", tell them to contact your accountant, then hang up. Do not give them ANY details. See more
