07.01.2022 This time 6 years ago I finished an 8 day, 1600km charity ride from Brisbane to Townsville to raise funds for cancer research. It was life changing on so many levels! Never have I experienced such physical pain....it was like sitting on razor blades for 8 days....but that’s a whole other story and blog post not for the faint hearted. It also coincided with me shaving my head at the end of the ride. My bike now sits idle...I’ll jump on it again one day. ... Since this ride, we’ve lost mum to cancer and it’s in her honour I’m sharing this picture. She hated that I shaved my head....but Mum always supported our decisions, no matter how ridiculous or crazy they were. 01.01.2022 On this day in 2018, Mum lost her battle to cancer. I still miss calling her any time day or night....so much so that I can’t bring myself to remove her name from my favourites list on my phone. Mum always provided a safe space to rant, rage or reflect and her love for family was unconditional. This is one of my all-time fave photos of us together, taken early 1990’s.
