Term 4 will also see schools welcome back parent volunteers, a return to pre-pandemic sporting activities, along with camps and excursion able to resume. Kindergarten orientations will be able to begin from the start of term 4 and year 7 orientations from 11 November.
23.01.2022 Labor is following the money on major government projects. We are sick of seeing taxpayer money go overseas and we want guarantees that local workers and businesses will benefit from big ticket items like the rail steel for new metro lines, as well as locally built trains and ferries.
23.01.2022 Gladys Berejiklian is happy to give the Police Commissioner a $87,000 pay rise but can only find an extra 9 cents an hour for our nurses. What a disgrace. Newcastle Herald
22.01.2022 Front page of the Daily Telegraph today. They’re joining our fight to save the Manly ferries from Andrew Constance’s scrapheap. If we must replace them, they should be locally built, locally designed and fit for purpose. The new imported catamarans just can’t cope with the swell between the Heads.
22.01.2022 Gladys Berejiklian can find an extra $87,000 for the Police Commissioner but just a pittance for our essential workers. Absolutely shameful and a real kick in the guts to the workers who have got this state through the pandemic.

21.01.2022 This is just a kick in the guts to our nurses, doctors, teachers, police officers, cleaners and other essential workers who have helped our state through this pandemic. It is truly baffling that the Treasurer thinks its appropriate to award department heads with up to a 15% pay rise while cutting the wages of our front line workers.
17.01.2022 The latest round of dredging of Swansea Chanel has begun and it is clear that Swansea needs a permanent dredging solution because the current approach is simply not working. Over the long weekend, Marine Rescue attended six shoaling incidents in which vessels became lodged. Lake Macquarie is the largest salt water lake in the southern hemisphere it simply must be safely navigable all year round.... Newcastle Herald

16.01.2022 Yesterday the Premier had the audacity to visit the Hunter and use the John Hunter Hospital as a backdrop to re-announce old infrastructure commitments. Yet she had nothing to say to the 36,000 health workers, teachers, firefighters, cleaners and prison officers whose pay she has cut. I spoke to NBN News about the Premiers cruel pay cuts. ... https://www.nbnnews.com.au//premier-unveils-plans-for-new/ NBN Television

13.01.2022 Gladys Berejiklian has to go.
12.01.2022 Yet another failed Liberal privatisation experiment that threatens jobs in our region. In leasing Port Kembla and Port Botany to NSW Ports and creating an noncompetitive environment, workers have been the ones to ultimately pay the price. We need a government which believes in local workers and provides opportunities, especially in the current economic climate.... Newcastle Herald
12.01.2022 This week is #DementiaActionWeek and is a great opportunity to reflect on and learn more about how you can help support those living with dementia. A little support can make the world of difference to those living with dementia and their families. 12.01.2022 She knew he had debts. She knew he was brokering deals. She knew everything. But she did nothing about it.
12.01.2022 The NSW Parliament passed the Modern Slavery Act in 2018, yet the Berejiklian Government still refuses to proclaim this Act. It is absolutely vital that this Act is proclaimed so that the most vulnerable persons in our community are protected. The NSW Government must do its part to end modern slavery. Sign our petition at https://bit.ly/3haI3el to call on the Premier and NSW Government to immediately proclaim the Act.
10.01.2022 The rules never seem to apply to Gladys Berejiklian and her Liberal MPs. For months, Gladys has been telling people to get tested, stay home and wait for the results. In the meantime, she has ignored the rules and carried on like normal while her test results were pending.... Casual workers and small business owners live in fear of missing work because of a COVID-test. It's not fair on them for politicians to brazenly flout the rules and then try to justify themselves when they get caught.
09.01.2022 Will the Premier tell ICAC she is incredibly proud of herself again?
08.01.2022 It’s Oz Music Month and Ausmusic T-shirt Day today and Labor MPs at Parliament are getting behind our favourite artists and supporting them during a difficult time for the entertainment and arts industries. Buy an album, some merch or tickets to a show if your favourite band is still performing to support local artists!
08.01.2022 Just because you say you "don't need to know" doesn't mean you never heard it. Daryl said it. Gladys heard it. That's when she should have reported him to ICAC. She never did.
05.01.2022 Ferries bound for Sydney Harbour from the offshore shipbuilder. The last batch had asbestos in them and were riddled with faults. We used to build the world's best right here in New South Wales using local workers and local materials. ... Now we import ferries (and trains) that don't work and don't fit. Madness.
05.01.2022 I have had the pleasure of travelling throughout regional NSW this past week with my family and dropped in on the Coffs Harbour branch of the Labor Party and heard from them about the issues affecting workers on the North Coast.
05.01.2022 This is just the short list of what unions have achieved for workers in this country. Today we have a public holiday, Labour Day, to acknowledge it and enjoy hard earned time off with our friends and family. If you’re working today in a frontline role, thank you (and you should be receiving penalty rates!)
04.01.2022 Gladys Berejiklian’s dishonest testimony at ICAC about who she knew, what she knew, and when she knew is beginning to unravel.
03.01.2022 Improving the health of the Tuggerah Lakes estuary has long been a priority of mine, because I know how important the lakes are to our community. The Tuggerah Lakes Expert Panel community consultation closes on 30 September. This is your opportunity to have your voice heard about issues impacting the waterway. 03.01.2022 Gladys Berejiklian knew Daryl Maguire was getting commissions for brokering property deals as far back as 2014. She even congratulated him in private texts and asked for details. She knew Maguire was $1.5 million in debt and knew that he was working on something in Badgerys Creek that he believed could clear his debts. When Maguire told her a land deal was done, she replied I don’t need to know about that bit. (In another taped call, Maguire talked about introducing his ‘l...ittle friend’ to someone and asked if the Premier knew who he meant. She again replied I don’t need to know.) She knew Maguire took property developer Louise Waterhouse to Berejiklian’s office and arranged a meeting with Jock Sowter from the Roads Minister’s office. She denied knowing about it, until ICAC played a recorded phone call in which he told her. She knew Maguire was directly intervening in a private business deal between Australian-based agribusiness UWE and a Chinese company, and she knew that UWE was not in his electorate. She advised him how to push the Minister for Trade to help fix the problem, and said she ‘didn’t care’ if he caused trouble for the Minister. Maguire had taken money from UWE in the past & had discussed being appointed as a board member or adviser after his Parliamentary career. She knew Maguire was advocating for property developers in Sydney and she received representations about a developer’s specific project direct to her private inbox. She knew Maguire had various outside business interests but never checked whether he was complying with the Ministerial Code of Conduct or the code of conduct for Members of Parliament. She knew.
02.01.2022 Today is National Police Rememberance Day and my thoughts are with all the families and friends of those who have lost their life in the line of duty. I also thank those who go to work everyday and put their lives at risk to keep us safe.
02.01.2022 Today is Allied Health Professionals Day which is an international celebration of who allied health professionals and their importance to our society. I thank all allied health professionals for the work they do in supporting our sick and vulnerable especially this year. HSU NSW
02.01.2022 These two have to be two of the most hopeless Transport Ministers in NSW history, first Gladys and then Andrew. And it's just the latest blunder from the two brainiacs who gave us Fat Trains that don't fit the tracks and Asbestos Ferries that can't fit under bridges.
