23.01.2022 A huge congratulations to Anna Betts for reaching the nomination stage for ARTEXPRESS 2021. ARTEXPRESS is an annual exhibition featuring a selection of outstanding student artworks developed for the artmaking component of the HSC examination in Visual Arts in NSW. Anna’s Body of Work titled We stand together in Isolation, under a grey cloud of uncertainty is a series of three oil paintings on canvas. The artworks are a personal reflection of the last year and feature some of Anna’s closest friends. Each piece includes complex symbols, layered meaning and makes references to the works of Gustav Klimt, Vincent van Gogh and Malcolm Liepke. Anna was one of only 575 students who were nominated across the state. This is an amazing achievement for Anna and YHS, fantastic work Anna!

23.01.2022 Next Monday and Tuesday Year 9 students will be participating in the online "Check-in assessments" in Reading and Numeracy. If they would like to bring headphones to use, they can use them in some parts of the tests. Results will be used by teachers to analyse the students' strengths and weaknesses so they can adjust their teaching and learning programs to support students to be their best. This online platform is only being offered to Year 9 students in the high school setting.

The gifts will be donated to Vinnies, The Salvos and the Circle of Friends to be distributed into the local community. If you have any questions please see any SRC member or Miss Bills.
