18.01.2022 Due to the lifting of some restrictions, we have made some minor changes to how you sign in to enter the library: * When you now enter the library, please go to the front desk and scan your library card. We still need to keep data on who enters the library space. * Returned items can be placed in either the return chute outside (24/7) or the one inside at the counter (during opening hours). * Temperatures will no longer be taken, however, if staff are concerned you are showin...g symptoms, they may ask you to have your temperature checked before entering. * Limited seating is now available within the library, but we ask that you still limit your stay to a maximum of 30 minutes. * Access to our free WiFi is still available. We are working hard on getting the public computers available for use again. We hope this will occur within the next two weeks. Please note that when we do have them available, users will require to book a session prior to attending the library. Sessions will be capped at 30 minutes due to COVID restrictions. We will provide more information on the booking process when all the details are confirmed. Once again, we thank you for your ongoing patience and assistance in helping us keep the Library COVID safe and compliant.

05.01.2022 The ongoing safety and well-being of our patrons and staff has been the primary concern as we continue to deliver our library service. We have made the decision to continue quarantining all returned materials for a period of 96 hours before wiping them over with antibacterial wipes and returning them to our collection. This means that there will be an overlap of time from when a patron returns an item to when it comes off their card. The 96 hour quarantine period is based on studies done of COVID-19 on various types of library materials. To learn more about the study visit https://www.webjunction.org//webj/realm-happening-now.html

YECCA joined us in the Library this afternoon to watch 'Mununja the Butterfly', 'Dyirri the Frog' and 'The Swan'.... You can view these beautiful stories all this week at the Yass Valley Library or online via the link below http://www.cmag.com.au/learning/cmag-families
