23.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION! Yates Electrical Services have received advanced notice that the Home Battery Scheme subsidy levels and cap will be decreasing, with the new levels set to be announced on Friday the 6th of March to be effective from Wednesday the 15th of April, 2020. As of this Friday, customers will have six weeks to take advantage of the current subsidies and seek conditional approval for the implementation of batteries into their home energy systems. ... To be eligible, a customer must have conditional approval within the Ratesetter platform by midnight, Tuesday April 14, and commit to having the system installed within 12 months for new builds and 6 months for all other properties. Customers who meet the eligibility requirements can take advantage of the current subsidy levels of $500/kWh or $600/kWh non-concessional, with a cap of $6000. Submissions received after the 14th of April will be subject to the new subsidy. If youve been thinking about getting a battery installed, now may be the best time. 23.01.2022 WE FOUND OUR PANELS!!! Yep, the Grinch once again tried to steal Christmas, but failed, and the solar panels which vanished from our solar farm development on Jury Road have now been recovered thanks to South Australia Police. Some of you may recall that we were offering a reward for assistance in finding the panels, part of which involved nominating a charity, community or sporting group of the finders choice where YES would install a 5kW system. In this case it was the pol...ice who notified us, so instead were looking for nominations on which charity, community or sporting group most deserves a free 5kW solar install! So heres how it works: Nominate and tag your chosen Riverland based charity, community or sporting group in the comments below telling us why you think they should win to put them in the draw for a 5kW fully installed solar system to assist with their operational costs. Just make sure whoever you nominate has physical (and enough) roof space, is not running out of a private house and is operating as not-for-profit. The winner will be drawn at random on the 31st of January, 2020. We would also like to thank everyone who shared our post and assisted us in trying to locate our stolen panels, and the police who worked dilligently to get them back to us. GET TAGGING! - The Team at Yates Electrical Services.

21.01.2022 "South Australia’s small-scale solar sensation Yates Electrical Services is teaming up with Sustainable Energy Infrastructure to develop 20 MW of small-scale solar over the next 18-months, another sign of the strength of the small-scale solar surge which flies under the radar of the network’s congestion woes."
20.01.2022 An announcement concerning South Australia's home battery scheme is set to be released tomorrow. The announcement comes as a response to the South Australian Government receiving a number of requests from system providers and customers who are seeking extensions to their Quote Record expiry date. The South Australian government has determined that any extensions will only be issued where there are extenuating circumstances. As outlined in the Home Battery Scheme Subsidy Term...s, the South Australian government has absolute discretion in relation to subsidy scheme matters including the payment of any subsidy, the amount of any subsidy, and the timing and order of any subsidy payments. As at 4 September 2020, more than 13,330 subsidies have been conditionally approved under the Home Battery Scheme. A total of 120 megawatt hours of battery storage has been installed, with another 38 megawatt hours awaiting installation. The installation of batteries and associated solar panels has also helped sustain local jobs throughout the state’s COVID-19 economic recovery. Yates Electrical Services will provide further information following the release of the update. If you haven't yet, now is a great time to register your interest for a home energy storage solution. To find out more, please visit www.mypower.net.au or call us on (08) 8119 0777. - The Team at Yates Electrical Services.

18.01.2022 Yates Electrical Services recently installed a Tesla charging station out the front of their office in Paringa. The charging station was installed to entice drivers of the all-electric vehicles to consider the Riverland as a destination which accommodates their requirements. We were very pleased to have our first customer charge their vehicle at our charging station this week. Ian Harris, who was driving the Mike Press Wines Tesla Model 3 stopped in for a charge and a sneaky... glass of quality wine. Mike Press Wines, located in the beautiful wine region of the Adelaide Hills, are famous for producing cool-climate wines that showcase crisp whites and aromatic reds. The winery was established in 2003 by Mike and Judy Press following several difficult years of trying to sell into a low-demand market and quickly gained several accolades, including being named runner-up for the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy - the most eagerly sought-after wine award in Australia - for their 2005 Shiraz and Cabernet cleanskins. In 2016, Mike and Judy Press met Bob and Yuko Harris - a fellow wine industry couple who were equally as passionate about South Australia and its wine regions - and in 2017, Bob and Yuko Harris purchased Mike Press wines as a great addition to their existing wine businesses - a chateau and wine business in France, a wine club in Burgundy and a winery in Beaujolais. As electric vehicles become more prevelant on our roads, the need for these charging stations also increases. Its great that Tesla owners based in Adelaide are beginning to recognise that a trip to the Riverland in their Model 3 is now feasible, and we look forward to welcoming more Tesla owners to our region in future. - The Team at Yates Electrical Services.

18.01.2022 Redmud Green Energy - a distributed network of large-scale solar farms operating throughout South Australia which kicked off in late 2016 - is now entering its 4th year of operation, with numerous land-owners and investors seeing the benefits of integrating solar farming into their business. Yet, as the project has grown, it has predominantly remained within South Australian borders, until now. This week, Yates Electrical Services officially begin construction on the first R...edmud Green Energy solar farm being built outside of South Australia. Located in the quiet town of Charlton approximately 4.5 hours from our home base in Paringa, the site signifies our first venture into neighbouring states markets. With so much available land throughout Australia which can be utilised for modern farming practices, its great to see the uptake of renewable energy is continuing to span into new areas. - The Team at Yates Electrical Services
18.01.2022 We got some new business cards printed for our team last week, unfortunately it looks as though we accidentally mispelt the name of our sales guy.
15.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BUSINESS OPERATORS. On the 12th of March, 2020, in response to the increasing spread of Coronavirus, the Australian government announced a package of measures designed to assist businesses in withstanding and recovering from economic impacts. One of the key measures which was introduced was an increase of the Instant Asset Write-Off (IAWO) threshold from $30,000 to $150,000, and expanding access to include businesses with aggregated annual turnover o...f less then $500 million (up from $50 million). If you operate a qualifying business, now is the time to consider installing a solar asset to not only offset the on-going operational costs of your business, but to drastically reduce your tax liability. For further information, please call Yates Electrical Services on (08) 8119 0777 during business hours.
15.01.2022 Following on from the agreement forged last week between Sustainable Energy Infrastructure and YES Group for the development of 20MW of renewable energy projects over the next 18 months, we have now officially been given the green light to commence development of the first 2 large-scale projects to be delivered in 2021. The first site, located just outside of Renmark, is a 5MW development which is scheduled to be completed sometime in the second quarter of 2021, with the seco...nd site - a 2MW project located in Bowmans - being completed around the same time. Yates Electrical Services are proud to continue developing their portfolio of renewable energy assets, and continue to assist in the development and growth of our rural communities through the creation of jobs, the introduction of new markets in regional areas and the retention of generated revenue within these communities. - The Team at Yates Electrical Services.

07.01.2022 Although Yates Electrical Services operates predominantly in the renewable energy sector - an industry which has become increasingly politicised as the climate change debate rages - we have traditionally kept our newsfeed free of our own opinions on the subject, choosing to focus more on the positive outcomes of our business. That being said, the science on the subject is pretty clear-cut; our climate is changing rapidly and human influence is unquestionably a factor. With in...creases in the intensity of extreme weather events - from drought to bushfires and flooding - Australia seems to be copping the full brunt of a lack of reasonable climate change policy. On March 23rd, Zali Steggall, the Federal Member for Warringah, is set to introduce a Climate Change Bill to Parliament, which will act as a framework to focus on emissions reductions, accountability and adaption to our changing climate, bringing our policies in-line with other progressive countries who are already taking positive action. To show your support for the introduction of the Climate Change Act, head to the website after the jump and add your voice to the petition. Lets insist our government take affirmative action on climate change before its too late. https://climateactnow.com.au/
05.01.2022 Yates Electrical Services in conjunction with Saxton Brown at Riverland Electrical Solutions today finished the installation of two new Tesla Charging Stations located in the Renmark Club car park, an idea proposed by Tim Bartsch at MM Electrical Berri. Electric vehicle owners can now visit Renmark, have a coffee and some lunch and take a wander down the riverfront while theyre waiting for their car to charge. As electric vehicles become more prevalent in the mix of cars on our roads, enabling owners the ability to charge while visiting our little corner of the world is becoming increasingly important, particularly for a community which relies so heavily on tourism. - The Team at Yates Electrical Services.

02.01.2022 For the third year running, Yates Electrical Services have been recognised as one of South Australias fastest moving businesses. The annual Fast Movers SA program - led by BDO - has been running since 2005, identifying 25 growth businesses across different sectors through metropolitan and regional SA each year. The program has supported more than 300 businesses through that time. Last year, Yates Electrical Services were recognised as the 5th fastest growing business in Sout...h Australia after placing 24th the year before, earning us the Excellence in Business award for continued growth year-on-year. This year - with the normal festivities of the prestigious annual breakfast ceremony being replaced by online announcements due to COVID-19, Yates Electrical Services have today been notified we have placed 13th in the top 25. The Fast Movers SA initiative has proved an invaluable resource for Yates Electrical Services, both in forming industry relationships, as well as providing us resources on further developing our business structure, particularly from a rural location where this exposure is often considerably more difficult. The team at Yates Electrical Services would like to thank BDO Australia for continuing this fantastic program, as well as all sponsors of Fast Movers SA, including the University of South Australia, Market Ease Business Promotions, Mellor Olsson Lawyers, News Corp, Floodlight Media, 7NEWS Adelaide and FIVEaa, as well as the silver sponsors and event sponsor FIXE who make this great initiative possible. - The Team at Yates Electrical Services.

01.01.2022 An agreement was finalised this week between YES Group and Sustainable Energy Infrastructure (SEI) to develop, own, operate, maintain and manage the energy sales for a platform of mid-large scale solar farm projects in regional Australia. The first phase of this undertaking will see SEI and YES Group developing up to 20MW of new solar farms within the next 18 months across South Australia and Victoria, with the first two projects in South Australia expected to commence constr...uction this calendar year. SEI - managed by Whitehelm Capital on behalf of a consortium of Australian superannuation funds - recognises the value of developing and providing sustainable energy solutions across regional Australia. This long-term partnership between SEI and YES Group - an established renewable energy asset developer, operator and retailer - is a strong fit considering the shared philosophy on risk, safety, quality and environment and social values. Mark Yates, Managing Director YES Group, said We are thrilled to be partnering with SEI to build and operate a portfolio of distributed solar assets across regional Australia. This deal is right in the sweet spot for YES Group, leveraging our high-voltage and construction expertise along with our YES Energy capability to manage the sale of energy, ultimately through to the end consumers. This is an exciting long-term strategic relationship with great potential as the energy market continues to evolve through its transition to renewables. We share SEI’s commitment to local communities and welcome both the job creation and job certainty which is underpinned by this investment. http://www.yateselectrical.com//yates-electrical-secures-m
