11.01.2022 This week is National eSmart Week! With our increased activity online now is a great time to sit down with your family and discuss responsible use of devices, interacting appropriately with others online, staying safe and limiting exposure to inappropriate content. The Office of The eSafety Commissioner is a great resource for parents/carers wanting to understand current issues and common apps that are used by their children.... Understanding if an app is suitable at a particular age, the risks involved and how to block or report other users and content are important aspects of staying safe online. 09.01.2022 Have you seen the major upgrade to Gilmore Street? Yarrawonga College P - 12 are absolutely rapt with the recent upgrades to the Gilmore Street area that have taken place over the past 12 months. We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Moira Shire Council for working with us to create such a fantastic road and bus exchange. The area is so much more usable and safer for all stakeholders. The upgrades have included a brand new sealed road and concrete walking p...aths on both sides of Gilmore Street for our families and students when travelling to and from school. Although there is still work to be done, the landscaping and existing gum trees for the avenue of honour make the area welcoming to our community. One of the most anticipated upgrades has been our new bus pick up and drop off zone. The new area allows Gilmore Street traffic to flow freely and provides our students with safe access to and from buses. The new Bus Shelters provide protection from our extreme weather conditions and fit well with the overall colour scheme of the Gilmore Street site. The overall look and functionality of Gilmore Street has improved significantly. Once again, we sincerely thank Moira Shire Council for their work and we look forward to welcoming all of our students and families back to the college soon. Damien Keel College Principal
