25.01.2022 How often do you sit down with your teens and let them know what they are doing well?

25.01.2022 Meditation is a great tool which helps parents to keep a clear and focused mind when dealing with family life and eveything else that comes with it. Things can get very crazy and by taking some time out to allow everything to settle can make a huge difference for ourselves and the rest of the family.. It is also great to teach kids and teens how to gain better control over what is going on within their minds..

21.01.2022 RESPECT We assume so much and often dont actually teach our kids stuff - we just expect them to magically know or work it out... Have you taken time to actually teach your kids what respect is, how to apply it, and what it does for them? And if so are you willing to share with us what you taught them and how? Also what the results are?... #respect #parenting #teenagers #ydc

19.01.2022 A diagnoses of a mental health condition is not always right, and does not explain the how, why, and what now.. Use it as a guide but don't take ownership of it and start living up to it.. Sure there may be a biological aspect to a human condition, but there is also an environmental aspect to any condition, and that is the part you can influence.. Stay strong and choose your own path in life..

18.01.2022 There is a lot going on during the adolescent phase of development. This video talks about just a few of them. #teenagers #parenting #youth #coaching #life #brisbane #ydcoaching #ydc

17.01.2022 If we want to change the beliefs, thoughts, and behaviour of our kids then we first must prove it is possible by doing it ourselves..

11.01.2022 Quick 5 minute relaxed before school chat between my 14yr old son and I this morning whilst he seems to be in good spirits and happy to talk. I like to regularly plant good seeds in his mind during the good moments. Q: How do you measure if life is good or not? A: By my stress levels.... Q: What things cause you the most stress? A: School assignments, or problems with friends, or getting in trouble. Q: Some stress is good for us do you know that? It is part of our survival instinct but also is part of what motivates us to become better at things. A: Yes Q: On a scale of 0 - 10 with 0 being zero stress and 10 being maximum stress - what level of stress would you say is good for you and you are happy with? A: About a 3 Q: Is there anything going on, or coming up for you that may push it past a 3? A: I have a presentation coming up and some assignments. Q: How can you reduce the amount of stress they create for, and how can we help you? A: (with my guidance) I have to not leave my assignments to last minute by doing them a little each day, and I have to practice giving my presentation before it is due. ME: Cool well if you need any help keeping it at or below a 3 by practicing your presentation or anything else then remember your mum, me, and your teachers are always here to help but first you must let us know that you need help.. Him: OK cool - thank you. Me: Love you - thanks for talking about this - have a great day at school..

05.01.2022 A quick 5 minutes with 10 tips for teenagers (actually anyone) who would like to be more successful in life. Share in the comments below any that you think I missed that should have been in there. Have and awesome day..

03.01.2022 Have you ever been told to focus or concentrate - were you ever taught how to do it??? https://youtu.be/4IsrgqHXcQY

02.01.2022 If we want our kids and teens to see the world from our perspective then we must be willing to also see it from theirs.

02.01.2022 Parenting can be a tough gig - we all come unstuck at times and could use a sounding board or support to unravel the mystery and create a clear path forward.

01.01.2022 Until we learn to make changes in our own thoughts and behaviours how can we hope to assist our kids and teens to change theirs? Surely we cannot expect them to do what we cannot do for ourselves...
