22.01.2022 Yea Brand Creme Fraiche - Silver Medal, 2018 Australian Food Awards
21.01.2022 OMG, just received this from Australian Grand Dairy Awards, nail biting stuff! LOCAL DAIRY DELIGHTS Yea Brand Creme Fraiche and Double Cream finalists in the Australian Grand Dairy Awards... Locally produced Yea Brand Creme Fraiche and Yea Brand Double Cream are a step closer to being named Australias best cream after being shortlisted as finalists in the prestigious 2014 Australian Grand Dairy Awards. Now in its 15th year, the Australian Grand Dairy Awards recognise and reward excellence, quality and innovation in Australian dairy produce, paying tribute to the highly-skilled Aussies who develop and make these products. To be eligible to enter the Australian Grand Dairy Awards, products must be made from Australian milk and have been awarded gold at state qualifying competitions, ensuring that the finalists and selected winners are truly the crème de la crème of Australian dairy produce. Over the past fortnight, more than 430 products across 19 different classes have been put through their paces in a rigorous and highly technical judging process by a team of 22 expert judges who tasted and tested them, assessing for flavour, aroma, body, texture, colour and appearance. And this year, our homegrown Yea Brand Creme Fraiche and Double Cream caught the eye and the taste buds of the judges, being named two of the top three contenders in the fiercely contested cream category. Australian Grand Dairy Awards chief judge, Neil Willman, says the calibre of Australian dairy produce has improved significantly throughout his 15 years on the judging panel. I continue to be impressed by the great quality dairy products being created by Australian manufacturers such as Yea Brand, said Neil. Australias dairy offering just continues to get better and better. The end result has been a really tantalising crop of finalists. Its wonderful to see products from Yea recognised on a national stage. From the finalists, one winner will be named in each class with the winners then going head to head to claim the accolade of Grand Champion Dairy Product and Grand Champion Cheese. Winners will be revealed at an exclusive awards ceremony to be held in Melbourne on Tuesday 26 November. - Ends -

04.01.2022 My Job to cater a very good friends 50th birthday. My brief I had to use local produce and there had to be lots of cake in fact a secret cake room. Working wit...h 2 other chefs Alan from the Grant St. Grocer in-charge of the local entree platters and Christine from Christines Cakes in Marysville who had the huge task of creating the centre piece for the cake room. We got to work gathering our local #Murrindindi ingredients to create a feast. Guests arrived and headed to the bar that as stocked with local wines from Sedona Estate, Cabernet/ Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and #LittleRiverWines Sparkling Brut, Cabernet/ Shiraz. Once glasses were charged, greeting and catch-ups had been done we served Grant St Grocers sensational entrée platter over flowing with local #Murrindindi produce. Kids begin with BBQ chicken skewer and Alexandra Quality Meats sausages and raw vegetable snack platter. There was whispers amongst the kids not to fill up too much on the vegetables because there was ice cream to come. All the kids dreams came true with an Ice cream Sundae bar; 5 ice cream flavours, waffle cones & baskets, sprinkles smashed Oreos, popping candy, smashed maltases, crushed chocolate flake, wafer sticks and to top it all off Alice Langton's Sauces salted caramel, chocolate and strawberry. There was a lot of older taller big kids in the line. Mains were served banquet style; Alexandra Quality Meats grass feed beef skewers wrapped in Thornton smoke house streaky bacon, grass feed tandoori lamb skewers with tzatziki, Asian style chicken skewers, wild rice roasted pumpkin toasted almonds and rocket salad, roast vegetable and baby spinach salad with a balsamic, seeded mustard and Mt Cathedral honey dressing, Dobsons potatoes tossed in a YEA BRAND DAIRY Crème Fraiche and mustard seed dressing. Then it was time for the cake room reveal to the Birthday girl, I think the pictures say it all there was lots of cake. Most guest said we should have skipped mains and gone straight to cake. To go with all the cake freshly brewed Great Divide Coffee with steamed How Now Dairy milk.
