24.01.2022 While promoting the Regional Employment Trial around North West NSW this week, we were introduced to two enterprising young men at MC Picker Repairs at Wee Waa. Matt and Liam showed Russell how they repaired picker spindles. Given maintenance is such a big aspect of machinery operations this is will be an important stop on the tour with our RET participants. Thanks to John Clements from Roy Butler MP's office for the introduction. MC Picker Repairs

17.01.2022 In the NSW Northern Tablelands and North West, youth unemployment is around 16.6%. The 3 BIG challenges facing the region’s young people are: 1. Locally available training does not always match the young person’s goals and attributes. 2. Many young people can’t access transport or get to locations where suitable courses may be on offer. 3. Simply not knowing an employer puts many young people at risk of unemployment.... We’re about disrupting this cycle that leads to unemployment, and working with young people to develop entry level skills. Those that show an aptitude for machinery operations are the target of this program. We will work with participants that demonstrate an aptitude and over time, we will help them develop entry-level skills and identify pathways to work. See more

15.01.2022 Online Program to go Live We have been busy developing an online platform to deliver the program throughout COVID-19 and beyond. Our team at YE Agenda Ltd has responded quickly to the pandemic to minimise inconvenience and keep job seekers engaged. We have refined and incorporated as many elements as possible from the face-to-face program into an easy to navigate online delivery strategy.... There has been a lot of work behind the scenes to get things off the ground, including all new presentation, quizzes and feedback forms. The goal of the new delivery is to make it as seamless and user-friendly as possible. The support from our partners and their readiness to try new things, has been outstanding. We will continue to refine the content as we receive feedback from the various cohorts. Launching soon - check back soon to get the link.

08.01.2022 As we said, skilled operators are in demand in the Northern Inland. Thanks to Will for letting everyone know about these opportunities at WTC Earthmoving.

08.01.2022 A change in conditions across the Northern Inland With the start of preparatory works on the Inland Rail corridor and farms, machinery operators are in demand. These images show participants in the Regional Employment Trial undertaking training on the Kubota in preparation for the Safe Tractor Operation and Maintenance course to be held in Narrabri on March 18 and 19. The image on the right is a stark reminder of just how devastating the drought has been and benefit of the recent rains promoting the lush growth as seen behind our two participants.
