20.01.2022 Good morning All students at Yea PS will be returning to school on the 5th October due to government changes in restrictions overnight. There will not be a staggered return. We are so excited to have all our students back at school!... Packs will remain at school, do not collect them tomorrow. Students will be working on them at school in week 1 while teachers get some assessment completed. On Friday the 9th October we will have a fun day at school to celebrate being back! I will organise a sausage sizzle and icy pole for each student at no cost. If your child has any dietary requirements please let me know. If your child needs more than one sausage for lunch please send additional food. Our school community has been amazing and the support given to our school has been fantastic. I thank you all. I would particularly like to acknowledge the staff at this school who have all made the children and families of Yea PS their first priority. They have worked consistently to engage remotely with each other and families to ensure the needs of our families are met. Enjoy your holidays and this beautiful sunshine. Debbie

15.01.2022 This term we have had a group of students who have competed in the ICAS Competitions (International Competition and Assessment for Schools) in 5 areas - Science, Maths, English, Spelling and Digital Technology. Many of these students had never sat anything like this - and showed great focus sitting in exam like conditions. Results are back for these - and they did a great job! These competitions attract almost a million entrants each year, so we are very proud to see how well our students did - with lots of Credits (top 25% of students who entered), several Distinctions (top 10%) and even a couple of High Distinctions (top 1% of entrants). We will contact families soon and look forward to presenting awards in the first weeks of next term once all are back. Well done Yea Primary entrants!! Give yourselves a pat on the back.

12.01.2022 Good morning We hope that you are having a relaxing holiday. It is not possible for teachers to organise camps for Prep to Grade 4 and definitely not possible for parents to finance a camp at this late stage of the year. The well being of my staff and families is my first priority, therefore there will not be camps for these younger students in 2020. Grade 5/6 parents have been invited to a meeting on Thursday to clarify any concerns they may have of the camp next term that... had been paid for and postponed since March. Debbie See more

Prep/1/2 have a Pool Party at the Yea pool from 2pm to 3pm. All students will need to bring their bathers, rashie and towel. Students will eat their lunch as normal, and then go to the pool. There will be no shared food. Wednesday 16th December We are going to have a Whole School ‘Big Write’. The theme is Christmas and all students can come dressed in any Christmas clothes or Christmas Colours. Please bring a gold coin donation. Thursday 17th December This is our last day at school. We will finish the term at 3:15pm. First thing in the morning we will have our traditional Grade 6 vs Staff T-Ball match. The Prep students will have a class party during the middle session, with a movie and popcorn will be provided! Grade 5/6 students will have their Pool Party from 12pm to 1pm. After lunch all students will participate in a Colour Run. Students will need to bring a change of clothes to get changed into for this event. White T-Shirts are great for the colour run as the colour can make such great patterns but old clothes would be prefered in case they are stained. Raffle tickets are due back on Monday. Monday is also the last day to donate items for the Raffle. Thank you for your support. A busy week! Have a great weekend.
