25.01.2022 The ACT Government is working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations to respond to COVID-19. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are... at greater risk from COVID-19. That's why we're providing $580,000 to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations to boost their services. The funding will ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can access programs that are community controlled, culturally appropriate, and meet the needs of the community. The funding complements the $250,000 announced last week for mental health and suicide prevention initiatives for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Thank you to the many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, services and community members who have been working with us to ensure better outcomes for our First Nations People including Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation, Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health and Community Services, Relationships Australia Canberra & Region Dhunlung Yarra, Canberra Rape Crisis Centre Nguru Program, Tjillari Justice Aboriginal Corporation and Yeddung Mura Aboriginal Corporation. covid.act.gov.au I 6207 7244 I #CBRtogether

This is something we should all be so proud to share in as Australians. As a proud Noongar/Yamatji/Wardandi/Bibbulmun woman, I have loved all of the opportunities I have had this week to revel in my culture, learn, connect and share music. From Yeddung Mura NAIDOC performance on Tuesday, Molly on Wednesday and now Canberra Yacht Club and Yazzbar today and this evening, I feel truly blessed. Missing my late Mumma who gave me this beautiful side of my heritage. I wish she could be here to celebrate and see how this nation continues to grow and embrace our mob. Thanks to all of you who engage First Nations artists in the course of your business
