24.01.2022 Explore your own backyard in Australia and get up close to our saltwater crocodiles on a Yellow Water Cruise Saltwater Crocodiles are one of the oldest creatures to walk the planet. 24.01.2022 Is a Yellow Water Cruise on your New Years 2020 must do list?

23.01.2022 Aside from Kakadus famous crocodiles hundreds of other species of wildlife exist within the park making it one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. Marsupials such as Wallabys and Wallaroos, to Turtles, Quolls, and Bandicoots, and hundreds more exist within the park including nearly a third of Australias birds species. Catching a glimpse of some of these creatures wont be hard on a Yellow Water Cruise.

23.01.2022 Just dropping the kids off at school! Local photographer Paul Thomsen captured this beautiful moment of a male comb-crested jacana with his chicks at Yellow W...aters Billabong. The comb-crested jacana is an Australian native waterbird and can be spotted around Top End wetlands. Theyre also known as lotus birds or Jesus birds for their ability to seemingly walk on water. Male Jacanas are like stay-at-home dads, as the mother disappears after laying the eggs, leaving him to look after the chicks. When the father senses danger he will bundle his chicks up in his wings to carry them to safety. How cute!

21.01.2022 Mornings along the Yellow Water Billabong Water Buffalo are 4501200kg herbivores that live in swamps and floodplains across the wet parts of northern Australia, including Kakadu. They move to the water mid-morning to drink and wallow, returning to graze from mid-afternoon until dusk.... Photo by @gene_eco_deane

20.01.2022 Why visit Kakadu during the tropical summer? To see cascading waterfalls, spectacular lightning storms and the wildflowers in bloom, thats why! Kakadu is spectacular during the summer with monsoonal rains bringing life to the dry earth. Birdlife is abundant, the water falls are roaring, and the wildflower are blooming in spectacular colours.

13.01.2022 Waterlilies are a stunning feature of the South Alligator River. The cruise follows the Yellow Water Billabong which is located at the end of Jim Jim Creek, a tributary of the South Alligator River. The river system is the largest in the Kakadu National Park and is made up of extensive river channels, blackwater swamps and floodplains. Photo credit @artform_of_life

12.01.2022 Water buffalo may make for a good photo op but these introduced animals have largely impacted the biophysical environment of the Kakadu region since their arrival in the early 1800s. Despite ongoing efforts buffalo are still prevalent in Kakadu National Park and surrounds. Photo credit @ianjmuirhead

09.01.2022 COME AND SEE THE NT! Im waiting until we get home (Darwin) to post the photos of our NT exploration photos, but had to do one today after our Yellow Water Crui...ses Kakadu this morning. Connor from Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel suggested the sunrise tour, so we booked it and had the BEST time! We got the kids up at 5:15am and headed out to Cooinda and met our friendly guide for the morning, Greg. We saw crocodiles, some water buffalo and a heap of beautiful birds on our relaxing trip. The tour finished with a delicious breakfast at Cooinda Lodge. If you are thinking about a trip to Kakadu NP/Jabiru, DO IT! It is a spectacular place, with so many different activities to suit everyone in the family.

05.01.2022 "We decided to head to the Yellow Water billabong for a cruise during the wet season. At this time of the year, most of the area is covered with water. You get to traverse the billabong that meets the South Alligator river over watergrass that would normally be exposed during the dry season. The staff are all very professional and our guide was a local who was very proud of his homeland. His family come from the area and still live in the area. He was very knowledgeable about the environs and the local flora and fauna. We passed through arches of creepers, observed birds on the branches, an elusive crocodile and numerous wading birds as well as beautiful lotus patches. Definitely one not to miss especially for the amazing guides and the views." - review from PKKC, London (via TripAdvisor) Photo credit: @darwin_style
