15.01.2022 Encouraging your pre-teen, teenager or students within your class to journal helps to boost their well-being by reducing stress levels raising their knowledge of self helping them process strong emotions... helping them solve problems Tips to getting started Get them their own notepad or book to write in. Part of this process might be letting them buy a special notebook at the shops or decorating the cover if you’re starting this practice within your classroom. Explain to them that when they’re journaling, their work doesn’t need to be perfect! Help them understand that when they’re writing they should be free of other distractions i.e. mobiles, television, siblings, friends and the list goes on. In other words, they need to find a quiet space or the classroom needs to be peaceful. Encourage them to write about what they’re thinking or feeling in the present moment. You’re encouraging them to be mindful and present, rather than thinking about the past or the future. Some prompts to get them started - In this present moment by body feelsmy mind feels - If I were looking down on myself as an observer I’d see - In this moment I am grateful for Encourage them to write in their journal regularly to help make this part of their daily or weekly routine. If you’d like more information about the benefits of journaling, how to get this process started or some more prompts please get in touch.

07.01.2022 I’m excited that there’s been so much interest from schools in the Geelong region to include our yoga and or mindfulness sessions within their programs. Our sessions are designed to help students learn how to tune into their feelings, cultivate a sense of calm and connect with their peers. These sessions come with the added bonus of your students developing greater physical strength, balance and flexibility. There are still a few booking times available in our Term 1 calendar, so if you’d like to give your students this learning experience, get in touch today we’d love to hear from you!

01.01.2022 I had a fantastic afternoon planning an ocean themed yoga session to share with a very special group of kinder kids later this week. I can't wait to be playful with their learning and watch some marine creatures come to life through the shapes they create with their bodies. I also love to include a picture storybook in these sessions because in my eyes literacy can be linked with all learning. If you know of any kinder or day care educators who might be interested in including this type of session in their program, I'd love it if you would share my post or page with them. Have a wonderful week! Namaste.
