25.01.2022 Our Home Services team had a very busy year. They helped 5400 people across the Toowoomba, Southern Downs and Lockyer Valley regions with yard maintenance, home modifications, security upgrades and home care. They also launched their first book, Wise Humans of the Downs, to promote social inclusion amongst seniors. The reactions from recipients reinforced the importance of reaching out to people with kindness, love and compassion at Christmas time, especially after the year that we've had. 21.01.2022 We are so happy to be part of the USQ Student Guild Christmas Tree Festival this year. We are one of 20 schools and community groups who have been invited to decorate a tree. Visitors can vote for their favourite tree and we receive 20cents for every vote. The festival runs from 10-12 December from 5.30pm-8.30pm at the Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre on Baker Street. Entry by gold coin donation, free ice-blocks for the kids, and a sausage sizzle too.

21.01.2022 All ready for our annual Client Christmas Party! Every year our Disability Support Program hosts a party for our clients and families. It is always so much fun! This year's theme is Christmas Carnival and we're in for a rollicking good time. A big thank you to our staff organising committee for going above and beyond to make today's party a real hit.

Our Environmental Committee is hosting an Enviro Market Day today to share ideas with our staff on how we can save money, reduce waste and do-it-yourself around the home. 20.01.2022 Peter hasnt been able to get out to his back patio for five years but that has all changed thanks to this new ramp. Hes now back to watering his plants, feeding the birds and using the bbq. A great result through our Home Modifications Program.

18.01.2022 Our amazing disability support team provided nearly 120,000 hours of support to our clients and held over 1,150 group activities in 12 months. It's one of our environmental initiatives to reduce our waste. This week, Michael and Shane added the compost to our new garden at YB Central. Now we just wait for rain.

Astute financial management will be just one of his much broader set of short-term priorities as CEO which will also include maintaining our current high level of quality services, enhancing our staff wellness initiatives, rebuilding service delivery to pre-COVID levels, investing in professi...onal development to have skilled staff to meet clients' needs and finding a new home for our boutique op shop. Longer term, Adrian will be focused on developing the Home Care program, expanding our partnerships, advocating for employment opportunities for our client groups, enhancing our workplace safety and environmental initiatives, and developing a long-term technology roadmap to achieve innovation and efficiency across the organisation. 09.01.2022 Cathy is loving her new iPad. She's already figured out how to take photos and file them in her photo album. Next step is to access wi-fi so she can chat with friends and use the internet. The iPad is thanks to the National Disability Insurance Scheme to help people like Cathy combat isolation and stay connected with friends, support and therapies.

08.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who joined us this morning to officially open Toowoomba's newest purpose-built disability accommodation. It was wonderful to share this exciting milestone with you. We are the proud owners of one of the four units thanks to Hand Heart Pocket and our first resident has already moved in and loving it! The complex was built by the great team at Enabled Living who was there to celebrate with us today.

Our staff builder, Karl, along with our new trainee Adriana, have installed this ramp to make it easier for our client to use their patio. Small changes can make a big difference to how our senior clients use and enjoy their homes.

The camp is in its 14th year and pairs local Year 11 students from Toowoomba Grammar School, The Glennie School and Fairholme College with young people with a disability for three days of fun and social activities.
