25.01.2022 When you have to replace a hoist under a low set house by sliding in the mud on your belly...

25.01.2022 My next job is to stain & varnish all the panels for the hidden cupboards under the not used breakfast bar

25.01.2022 The Reno of my partners kitchen is coming along too. Staining of kickboards to match floors done. Staining the end panel to match furniture almost done, & since we had a space & a drawer front left over from the 2nd hand kitchen we bought, we repurposed it into a spice rack!

25.01.2022 Still giving thanks every day for the adventure of creating my dream home Edit: when I first moved this house onto this bare paddock 13 years ago, I had to pay a huge bond to Council in case the neighbours wanted to sell & my not quite finished 20 room home with garaging for 8 cars devalued their 3 bay tin sheds ...) #yougotthis

20.01.2022 This is amazing!

20.01.2022 My driveway is 6’ deep thanks to sludge & Sandy loam soil, the whole driveway had to be dug out & filled with blast rock then mattress rock before being finished with gravel.. now it’s all weather access for anything! Bless Vince the only truck driver who would come her & reverse up the driveway dumping blast rock; & Josh Finlay who spread it with his 5t excavator!!!

19.01.2022 So happy to report I now have breeze without insects again! Some people just aren’t welcome back...

18.01.2022 So yesterday was a comedy of errors ... I was cutting out for my friends sink & stovetop; first no template but managed to measure up & use a square dinner plate for a set square. Then broke the blade on the jigsaw so off to Bunnings. First cut with new blade, jigsaw head broke! Back to Bunnings for a whole new jigsaw.. came back, took jigsaw out of car but left handbag & keys ... friend has to drive to my place to get spare key while I made huge mess in her kitchen. Found some glossy offcuts and made top & bottom rails for oven, & belt sanded the old varnish off the butchers block too. End result - perfect fit & happy friend! Phew!

05.01.2022 Taking down an antique kitchen cupboard while wearing a dress is easy when you know how! The owner of this 100 year old cupboard wanted to reuse it elsewhere so off with the doors, off with the old splash back & off with the cupboard!

04.01.2022 Found this online about our tornado https://www.abc.net.au//hail-strike-on-yengarie-s/10375234

04.01.2022 When you have lived in houses you are renovating for as many years as I have, you learn to be grateful & appreciative for the smallest things.. In this house, among other things, I was 2 years without running water or an indoor toilet. I still give thanks every time I turn on a tap, flush a toilet or take a shower! Gratitude & appreciation help us learn to value things, as does how hard we have to work to earn them, & how long we have to go without them. Thank you! Have you given thanks today for every wonderful thing in your life?
