19.01.2022 Unfortunately Winter typically brings an increase in structure fires for Fire and Rescue NSW and this week has been no different for 073 station. The last 4 days we have responded to: - Structure Fire 3rd alarm: Multiple vehicles destroyed by fire in the underground car park of a unit complex. The fire was contained to the carpark with 43 residents evacuated. - Structure Fire 2nd alarm: One townhouse was extensively damaged by fire and one occupant transported to hospital w...ith burns. Firefighters prevented spread to surrounding premises. - Garage Fire Domestic: Firefighters quickly extinguished a garage alight and prevented fire spread to the rest of house. 15.01.2022 At 08:03 yesterday morning 073 and 055 stations were called to a building fire in an auto parts factory. Firefighters quickly extinguished a pile of rubbish before it could spread to the rest of the structure. A couple of hours later at 10:24am 073 was called to a structure fire 2nd alarm at Merrylands with a duplex well alight. Firefighters forced entry and extinguished a fierce blaze burning on the top floor. A ceiling hook was used to penetrate the roof space to ensure th...ere was no fire spread to the adjoining residence. The duplex was ventilated and Firefighters conducted atmospheric monitoring to ensure the premises were safe to re-enter. Some of the other jobs we attended over the past couple of days have included AFA’s, MVA’s, power lines down and a rescue incident. 11.01.2022 At 10:08pm last night 073 station and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 085 Chester Hill were responded to a unit fire in Carramar. En-route crews were advised by FireComms that persons were reported trapped. On arrival a 2nd storey unit was well alight with flames visible from the balcony window. Due to the ferocity of the fire the rest of the building was heavily smoke logged with residents trapped on a 3rd floor balcony. 073 utilised a ‘reverse hose lay’ and commenced fire att...ack and search and rescue of the fire affected unit. Second arriving crew Chester Hill commenced search and rescue on the 3rd storey and with the help of 055 Guildford rescued the trapped occupants, some via ladder. 09.01.2022 8th Alarm Factory Fire | Moorebank At 6:22pm last night FireComms received multiple 000 calls to a factory fire in Moorebank. On arrival crews found cardboard alight at the entry to the premises which ignited a pool of ethanol quickly spreading inside. Up to 100 firefighters worked tirelessly through the night in an effort to extinguish the inferno which is expected to burn well into today. ... 073B were initially involved in setting up a water relay to aid water supply to Fire and Rescue NSW Station 027 Parramatta bronto. Following this the crew were tasked with making entry into the Charlie side of the factory to prevent fire spread to an adjoining compartment. 03.01.2022 #morethanjustfire At 9:37am D Platoon responded to reports of a ‘dog on a roof.’ A concerned neighbour made the call when they realised the dog was having a ‘ruff’ time getting down. Firefighter Mark retrieved the distressed puppy and brought him to ground safely. Later in the day D also responded to an automatic fire alarm (AFA) at Villawood Detention Centre. Investigations found that the alarm was set off by smoke from an exploding phone battery. ... 01.01.2022 This evening we attended a caravan fire in Canley Vale. A quick response from all crews resulted in containing the fire to the caravans with only minor damage ...to structure and surrounds.
