24.01.2022 This was such a long time ago .... 1996.... 24 years ago when I was honoured as Queenslander of the Year on Queens Birthday Weekend From 1993 to 2000 Save the Farm Fund was ran out of Yeomans Plow Factory on the Gold Coast. .... with a small group of volunteers we sorted, packed up sent out 764 pallets of clothing, linen, toiletries, food among other things. RM Williams company was a big supporter of ours after an interview on radio with Alan Jones.....sending boots and cl...othing for us to send on the the farmers..... Farmers responded by writing thank you letters back to the company which kept them supporting us for years until we ceased collecting when farmers were saying we are not bad off now send it to someone else..... Unfortunately only a few years later drought hit hard again and Brian Egan and his wife Nerida started Aussie Helpers which continues to this day without Brian at the helm (RIP Brian)

21.01.2022 There may be a way to get one of our plows through this information for anyone interested

19.01.2022 Here is a 16 minute video from Burkina Faso in West Africa from October 2019 where there is a 40 hectare of land where they are using 20 hectares for a Agro-forestry site that has been plowed using a Yeomans Keyline Plow. You can see the plowed lines in the background of a lot of the shots. At 8.45 you can see the before picture of the property. At 11.20 there is another aerial shot of plowed land. Ledo who is the consultant on regenerative agriculture at 11-56 talks a...bout planting 800 Moringa trees At 13.45 you can see more of the area ripped with our plow. At 14.30 Ledo says "25 years since locals saw any farming in this area" "the rip we've done everywhere on site with the Yeomans Plow. The Yeomans Plow had a tremendous effect on the land" https://youtu.be/6I06VmDEUmI

09.01.2022 ..Replacing a SHEAR PIN on a Yeomans Plow The YEOMANS SHEAR PIN system is the simplest, quickest and cheapest shear pin system on any shank, anywhere in the world. With the Yeomans, when you hit a big enough rock or a stump, the shear pin can shear. This prevents damage to the plow even in the worst of conditions. The clamp partially opens allowing the shank to lay back and be free to ride over the obstacle.... To fit a new Shear Pin first raise the plow with the hydraulics so that the shank is free to swing forward into its operating position. There is no need whatever to loosen the clamping bolts. Leave them just as they are. Manually swing the shank back onto the plow beam in what would be its normal operating position. Then when it’s approximately in position insert the tapered Drift Tool (OCDT) across the top of the Yeomans Shank and through the oval loop hole in the Clamp Plate. The shank assembly will then comfortably sit there in place. The Drift Tool is just a tapered spike looks a mariner’s Marlin spike. Now use a hammer to drive the Drift Tool further in to align the Shear Pin holes. Try and insert the new Shear Pin into position. That is through both the Shear Pin holes in the Shank and the single hole in the Clamp Plate. They probably won’t line up initially. So now hammer the drift wedge in further until suddenly things all line up and the Shear Pin freely slides into place. Locate the Shear Pin centrally on the Clamp Plate. Now knock the Drift Tool out. Hit it at its small end at it will simply jump out. (Don’t stand in front of it.) You’re now ready to resume plowing. Replacing a Shear Pin on a Yeomans Shank takes less than a minute. Once you have done it a couple, you’ll find it takes you about 30 seconds, or less. Shear Pins for the 22 inch Yeomans Shank are inch or 12 mm round mild steel. For the 26 inch and the 30 inch Yeomans Shanks use 18 mm or 11/16 inch round mild steel. Either black or bright steel is OK. Low carbon steels are OK, just don’t use high tensile materials. On initial assembly, with the pin in place, tighten the bolts progressively to between 35 and 55 foot pounds for the 22 inch shank: and between 55 and 75 foot pounds for the 26 inch shanks. For metric: multiply those numbers by 15 and you get them in Newton metres. That’s 525 to 825 and 825 to 1125 Newton metres. In practice it’s about as tight as an office worker could tighten them with one hand and holding the spanner 12 inches or 300 mm out from the nut. It’s tight, but not too tight and it’s not all that critical. So you don’t need a torsion wrench. It’s really all very easy.
