25.01.2022 An old saying used to be: "The only time a farmer eats his own meat is when he goes to his neighbours house for dinner". Farm theft has always been a large problem in rural Australia due in many cases to the remote areas away from everyday farming activities which often meant stock weren't missed for many days after they were stolen and in some cases up to a month.... Modern technology has aided the tech savvy farmer in monitoring his stock and equipment, but it has also helped the enterprising criminal. Drones mean a farmer can remotely monitor his stock and outlying areas of the farm, but the criminal element can also use it to locate equipment or stock they want to steal. They are also dependent on the landholder being able to fly and monitor his drone so coverage can be at best, very time dependent. The system being promoted in this post allows for remote monitoring of an area around the clock. Mobile phone technology and the internet combine to monitor your vulnerable areas and stock and receive a notification immediately a camera has been activated. An activation may disclose a vehicle or person moving through your property or even alert you to an animal attack by dogs or foxes. Like any system, it is not foolproof, so other measures such as recording serial numbers and other details of your machinery, regular checks of stock and fences, reporting suspicious vehicle movements to Police an neighbours and rigorous monitoring of your stock with tags etc, can be of great assistance in preventing a theft or recovery of stolen property. Your local Rural Crime Police are also a great ally and need information on the movement of suspicious vehicles. The ideal identification is a description of the vehicle and its occupant/s and registration number, but just a description may be all the Rural Crime Detective requires to link crimes.

10.01.2022 From Admin: This page was initiated to publicise the village, our residents achievements and upcoming events. Recently there have been some posts of possible u...nlawful behaviour in and around the village which have either not been published or removed by admin. If you have a report of possible unlawful activity please report it directly to the Police. This can be done in four different ways: 1. If it is an urgent matter requiring immediate Police action or attendance please ring 000 immediately. 2. Matters involving possible illegal activities or suspicious people, vehicles or activity please phone 131444 and make a report. Ask for an Event Number which you can use to follow up any action that may have been taken. Any serving Police Officer can access that reference number and update you on any action taken, 3: write to your local Police Station by Post, email or comment on their Facebook page. 4: Attend your local (or any) Police Station and report the matter The difficulty with posting on our local community Facebook pages is that you may be identifying yourself as the person complaining and may subject yourself to possible reprisals by you alleged offenders.
