25.01.2022 Over Christmas, we received a letter from little Brody Miller, wishing for rain to put the fires out. Yesterday, under overcast skies, Brody became an honorary member of the Yetholme Brigade! Welcome aboard, Brody!

BYO drinks and food as usual There will also be a presentation to commend and recognise our Yetholme RFS Members for their tremendous efforts during the 2019/20 fire season! Please mark this evening in your calendar and come along to celebrate together what has been an extraordinary 12 months. Everyone is welcome, please adhere to COVID regulations and safety guidelines.

This photo was taken as our crews kept a quiet vigil over their back burning efforts around Lithgow during Christmas. We would like to thank the community for their unwavering support over the summer and wish everybody a safe and peaceful winter. 19.01.2022 After a brief respite, it appears that the fire threat is again increasing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the three people killed in the Snowy Mountains today. We hope that all crews who spend this long weekend on the fire ground are kept safe and the communities they’re protecting are spared a repeat of the recent devastation we’ve seen.

To support the mental health of Australia’s emergency service workers, the RFS is proud to have partnered with Black Dog Institute in the development of the Bush Fire Support Service.
