23.01.2022 The 7th full moon of the year is celebrated as Guru Purnima day. It is the beginning of the spiritual year when a new year of knowledge begins. Guru Purnima is the day of the Guru, the highest principle in the world. It is the celebration of wisdom and knowledge. Gu = darkness, ignorance and suffering, ru = light, knowledge and bliss. When darkness disappears and light appears. All of us mostly live in darkness, and sometimes a spark comes into our mind which enlightens again the darkness.

22.01.2022 On this auspicious full moon day of Guru Purnima, we remember with gratitude our spiritual teachers. Sri Deep Narayan Mahaprabuji is our grandfather Guru of ...the Yoga in Daily Life lineage. If you are ever fortunate enough to go to his ashram in India you can still feel His immense peaceful energy there. This is the place that the asana sequence Khatu Pranam is dedicated. Gu means darkness and Ru means light. The Guru is a teacher who helps us dispel the darkness (ignorance) and take us toward light (knowledge). Sri Deep Mahaprabujis life is an inspiration for all yogis. You can read it online here https://www.lilaamrit.org/ We wish you abundance of blessings from the Gurus of the YIDL lineage and all spiritual teachers.

19.01.2022 Today we are celebrating Birthday of our beloved Gurudev,Vishwaguru Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Sri Swami Maheshwarananda Puriji, according to the Indian Calenda...r. "Long ago, Sri Devpuriji made this promise to the British Governor at Nakki Lake: One of the seven rishis from satya loka will soon incarnate on earth and during childhood his name will be Mangilal. Due to the pledge made by God Maheshwara[1], Sri Devpuriji Maharaj, this child will be under his special protection and later will rise to fame as Swami Maheshwarananda. The great task will be made known to this great yogi and sannyasi, brave hero and knower of Truth, and through him your wish will come true." Some years later, Devpurijis and Mahaprabhujis promise became reality and Paramhans Yogiraj Swami Maheshwarananda entered this world. "He was born in the village of Rupawas, in the district of Pali, Rajasthan. His parents, Pandit Krishna Ramji Garg and Srimati Phool Devi Garg, were both devout and religious people. They gave him the name of Mangilal." Read more at: https://www.lilaamrit.org/

14.01.2022 In Samsara (world) you get milk mixed with water (reality and unreality). Your intellect, your heart should be "Paramhansa" (divine swan), who drinks only milk ...and leaves out water. The world is not empty, it is full of flowers, good people, Satsang, wisdom and knowledge. Open your eyes, your heart and your consciousness and you will see it. Dont be like a fly always going around what is dirty. Be like a bee who looks for flowers and takes the honey from them, even from a poisonous plant she knows how to get the nectar. 11.01.2022 Mauna is Atma Anubhuti Sadhana Mauna means the observation of silence. In Yoga in Daily Life system we have a meditation technique which is called Self-inquiry meditation. (https://www.yogaindailylife.org//en/self-inquiry-meditation). Self-inquiry means two things: how am I and who am I. The Sadhana of Mauna is that technique to know how I am. Mala, Vikshepa and Avarana (https://www.chakras.net/yoga-principl/mala-vikshepa-avarana) are obstacles on the spiritual path. Mala m...eans impurities, emotional, mental, physical, social etc. Vikshepa are disturbances resulting from the impurities and Avarana is that curtain we cannot see through. That curtain is the ignorance between our real Self and the ever present, pure consciousness. To keep Mauna, not talking for a period of time during a retreat, is a very powerful tool. https://www.swamiji.tv//3015/mauna-is-atma-anubhuti-sadhana See more

10.01.2022 Important Principles for Practice of the Asanas 1. Asanas are always performed in coordination with the breath: - Movements that expand the chest and abdominal ...cavity, are always connected with the inhalation - Movements that narrow the chest and abdominal cavity, are always connected with the exhalation 2. In the initial stages of practice, the Asanas are performed once or twice without holding, so that the movement of the body and the breath are synchronised. In this way it is clearly established with which movement to inhale or exhale. This type of practice calms the nervous system, stimulates the glands, increases the capacity of the breath and frees one from physical and mental stress. The mind becomes relaxed, calm and clear. 3. Only after this preliminary practice should an Asana be held for a longer time, breathing normally. During practice, concentration is directed to the specific part of the body on which the exercise is working. The breath consciousness is also directed to this region of the body. 4.After practicing a posture, a counter pose or equalising posture is carried out. For example, when one part of the body is flexed or contracted, then in the following Asana it is extended or stretched.

03.01.2022 "Love each living being - just as much as yourself" - this sentence is the essence of Sri Mahaprabhuji's message to mankind. "To love" means: to understand, for...give, help, give. All living beings, humans and animals, are children of the Lord and a part of Him. Therefore, at the same time every human is one with God and the whole Creation. The task of human life is to recognize that truth and to realize it on the Earth. That means to give up separating egoism and narrow-minded selfishness, to live in unity and harmony with all living beings. Humans should cooperate, help and support each other. See more

01.01.2022 Many Asanas were derived from the natural movements and positions of animals and carry the names of animals such as cat, deer, tiger, hare, etc. These p...ostures make use of examples from nature on how to help oneself. Asanas have a far-reaching effect upon body and mind. The animals instinctively used these movements and positions because of their natural benefits. These effects are attained through the practice of the Asanas. For example: Marjari (The Cat) for stretching the body and the spine, Bhujangasana (The Cobra) for the release of aggression and emotions, and Shashankasana (The Hare) for relaxation. The headstand (Shirshasana) and Lotus (Padmasana), are regarded as the supreme or royal Asanas. Read more: https://www.yogaindailylife.org//the-significance-of-the-a
