21.01.2022 Like all Australians, we are immensely saddened by the devastation and destruction which has impacted our communities, our landscape and our wildlife over the holidays. As part of our effort to assist, we will be donating $40 for every trade mark filed during January to Wildlife Victoria (www.wildlifevictoria.org.au) to assist with the care and rehabilitation of native animals affected by the bushfires. Our thoughts are with everyone who has experienced loss during this period as well as the countless firefighters, volunteers and regular people who are doing great work to get through these tough times.

10.01.2022 My analysis of a recent successful trade mark opposition case we ran against Capital Safety Group and 3M concerning the trade marks PROTECTAWARE vs PROTECTA and PROTECTOR. The decision is interesting in that the Hearing Officer was required to consider six separate grounds of opposition (and thankfully found in favour of our client, Classic Supplies, on all six grounds). Also a useful analysis of: Whether protective clothing and safety equipment are similar goods Comparison o...f trade marks which incorporate a common descriptive term Issues relating to authorised use and ownership of trade marks between subsidiary companies. https://lnkd.in/edR7tUh #protectaware #classicsupplies #capitalsafety #3m #tmopposition
