25.01.2022 2018 Term 1 Recitals and Workshop were a hit. Students performed really well and the topic for these recitals were Time Signatures. Teachers did a super job preparing and presenting. Take a look at all our photos in the photo album. The young beginners are especially cute this term as they put their furry friends to sleep during lullaby time. We trust every one had fun and learned something. We also hope it was an opportunity for students to grow confidence and a willingness to share their music.
24.01.2022 We are glad to confirm that all our November Exam Students will be sitting for Exams on the 7th of November 2020. For the first time ever (adding to the many other first time ever things that have happened this year), exams will be held here in Studio 2 in a Face to Face setting and we will be continuing with all our existing COVID safe procedures. Exam times will be posted 3 weeks prior to the exam so please check our Facebook page for regular updates. All the best to our exam students who are currently working really hard towards exam day!

20.01.2022 YM PIANO TEACHERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS 2019 In keeping with our commitment to develop and maintain a high level of excellence amongst our teachers, we all attended a full day of lectures this past Saturday. Our guest lecturer was Anthony van den Broek presenting 2 lectures on the Taubman Piano Technique theory and application and ending with a masterclass involving 3 students. Sarita Larrigaudiere began the lectures with a session titled Biomechanics for the Pianist: a systematic assessment and observation of the pianist. We were all thankful for the challenging and insightful presentations.
20.01.2022 Students enjoyed the end of term Recital and Workshop. The topic of the sessions was Key Signatures and was presented differently to suit young beginners to advanced levels.

17.01.2022 We are happy to announce that our yearly concert will take place on Saturday the 14th of November. Students have been very busy preparing their performances in the last few months and everyone is excited and buzzing leading up to the event. Things will be a little different this year in terms of logistics. A camera crew will be joining us early in the morning and students will be allocated a recording session. There will be trophies, medals, and awards given out on the day. The footage of the 5 sessions will be edited and recordings will be released approximately two weeks after the concert date. Please chat with your teacher if you haven't received the Concert set up note. More details about concert session times will be released in week 1 and 2 of term 4.

15.01.2022 Advanced Student recitals will take place this coming Saturday. 2 of our advanced students will be performing in our private concert area in the lead up to exams and Concert in November. They will be joined by 12 of our esteemed guests who are long time "friends of the Studio". Due to COVID-19 restrictions our guest list has needed to remain to a maximum of 12, but these students will be performing again in the recorded concert sessions in November and their performances will be available to a wider audience.

14.01.2022 In light of what is happening in Sydney relating to COVID-19 we have needed to change the recital schedule and format for the rest of the recital sessions. Student numbers will be limited to 5 per recital to allow for social distancing and recital sessions will last half an hour only. Students will not be allowed to consume food during the session but asked to take their food and prizes home. Workshop activities will avoid touching or sharing equiptment. Sanitiser is compulso...ry on entry and students are encouraged to wear masks. Teachers will be wearing masks. Also I would ask that you please wait in your car until the recital session is over rather than wait in the outside waiting area of the studio. The teachers will walk the students to the grass area in front of the Studio. We would ask that you pick up your child/children promptly to avoid congestion. I am glad that we are still able to run recitals in a modified way and am grateful for you cooperation. Kind Regards, Sarita Larrigaudiere Thursday recitals 4.30-5pm 1. Ros L 2. Ap Men 3. Ja T 4. 14.01.2022 Hi everyone. Welcome back to YM Piano Studio 2019. Sorry we have been out of touch in the last few months. We hope to keep in touch with news and events a little more than last year.
14.01.2022 Recitals Term 1 2019. Our first recital was held on the last week of Term 1. Students performed really well. Our new students were super brave for trying out something new and our existing students seem to be growing in confidence every term. Our workshop topic was "notes". Our very young beginners created different notes with Play-Doh and alternated in 4 different learning bays. Beginners played fun note identification games including note bingo, find the note on the floor s...taff, name the correct note and race to shoot the note target with a Nerf gun. This game seemed to be the most popular despite my initial reluctance to try it out! Our intermediate students looked for basic note patterns in an intermediate piece. And our advanced students analysed a Fugue by J.S. Bach. They needed to find recurring patterns and themes. Please check the photo gallery for lots of photos. See more
