24.01.2022 YMCA Timber Tots ELC recently had their Father's and special people morning tea with lots of yummy treats and happy families

24.01.2022 At the beginning of the pandemic, YMCA Bunbury ELC wanted to give back! Aware their local nursing homes were not receiving visits, they thought it would be nice to individually draw pictures accompanied with a message and a photo for their local nursing home Bethanie’s. At the beginning of this week every child had received a letter back from the residents. It was so special for the children opening and receiving the mail and it put a smile on everyone’s faces!

20.01.2022 The children at YMCA Albany ELC have been busy to make artwork to send in a big letter to the residents at Clarence Estate. We have talked about how difficult it has been for some people not to be able to get visitors through the pandemic so we thought some bright paintings and happy notes would be a lovely surprise in the mail!

20.01.2022 It's NAIDOC Week - a week to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of online and social distanced activities, and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. 18.01.2022 YMCA East Cannington ELC received a clothing donation bin from the Ashronia Community Services and within one week the bin was completely full! The children loved learning about about charity and community needs and decided to hold a disco with gold coin donation to raise money for the The Smith Family! In total they raised $85, a fantastic result we are all very proud of

17.01.2022 Breathe in, breathe out Parents at YMCA Tambrey ELC were treated to a relaxing yoga night at our centre. You can feel the calmness radiate through the screen!

17.01.2022 The toddler room at the Y Maylands ELC have been busy practising "I Can Sing A Rainbow" in sign language The song was shared by one of our families and has provided endless opportunities for our educators to foster early language development. Small children typically use their hands to communicate long before they can speak and this learning experience enables us to foster multiple learning styles, such as verbal, visual, and physical, while discovering early literacy concepts.

17.01.2022 We know great care begins with great educators! In August YMCA Yappara House ELC had their bi-monthly staff meeting and started off with a team building exercise. They used spaghetti and marshmallows to build the highest tower in 5 minutes that stayed upright This team building exercise developed on the educator's individual strengths and encouraged collaboration amongst one another!

17.01.2022 Investing in skill training for our educators is important to us to ensure we continue to provide high quality and inclusive care environment for all children and their families YMCA Timber Tots ELC is engaging with Potentium Psychology to do just this! The coaching and mentoring provided will assist the educational team to build on their knowledge and capacity to become skilled in guiding children’s behaviours

17.01.2022 Parents, next time you're dropping your child at YMCA East Cannington ELC, make sure you see our newly planted vegetable garden The Kindy room had noticed a change to the leaves and blooms on the fruit trees so they decided as a group to plant some vegetables! So far there are corn and snow peas in the garden with more being planted soon. What would you like to see planted?

12.01.2022 The Kindy children at the Y East Cannington ELC celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights Families caome along for the morning to help make some salt dough dyas. Once they were dried and decorated the children placed LED tea lights inside them. Some children even came dressed in their traditional festival clothing!

06.01.2022 The Nursery 2 room at YMCA Bunbury ELC enjoyed creating sensory bottles using a range of natural and recycled materials, with families donating their plastic bottles for the project. They have seen children become confident and involved learners as they develop fine motor skills creating this resource and can adapt what they have learned from one context to another
