11.01.2022 Mindfulness is the practice of focusing on the present moment. It has been shown to help people cope with the challenges of everyday life, and can be especially valuable during unprecedented times, such as these. There are many different ways to practice mindfulness, and there is no one size fits all. Learn more about the different techniques by visiting: https://www.ymcansw.org.au/news-and-media/news/mindfulness/

05.01.2022 Well, 2020 has been a year, but we are back and all hands on deck organising our comeback for 2021!! Introducing our fabulous coordinator - Tahlia Kittos! This will be Tahlia’s 10th year involved with the program. From 2011-2013 she was a participant, and from 2014, she has been a valued member of the taskforce. In 2020, Tahlia took on the role of coordinator and we are so excited to have her leadership to take us through this challenging time! ... We asked her what her favourite YP memory was, and this is what she had to say: ‘There is no way I could pick just one memory. I would have to say the annual visit to Government House is so special. I’m constantly amazed by the hospitality we receive whilst we are there’ Thanks Tahlia for everything you do, and looking forward to an AMAZING 2021! Ps: swipe right for baby Tahlia in the chamber

04.01.2022 Today, October 1st marks the first day of National #MentalHealthMonth. This year’s theme is #TuneIn. This means making the most of all of the opportunities we get in connecting with our senses and our communities. By tuning in to yourself, being present, taking time for self-reflection and personal development it will help you to focus your mind and gain new perspectives.... During October, the Y NSW is encouraging all young people to Tune In with the Y. Our Y Spaces ( Y Space Western Sydney, Y Space Central Coast & The Cooma Youth Hub) will be hosting events across regional/metro locations together as well as digital activities and challenges on Facebook and Instagram with prizes to be won, so that everyone can join in the fun.
