Events are happening all across the state and country to mark the occasion and celebrate the history, culture, language, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples! The theme for #NAIDOC2020 is ‘Always Was, Always Will Be’. It’s an acknowledgement that Australia’s First Nations Peoples are the world’s oldest living culture, having liked and taken care of this land for over 65,000 years. 19.01.2022 This is Jodie Down, Youth Member for Warrego - coming in with a late community engagement post. Recently, she had the opportunity to meet with and interview Mayor Tom Tate, the Mayor of the Gold Coast. She also met with Stuart Robert MP, MP for Fadden, earlier this year.
