25.01.2022 STOP PRESS - Glen and I are disappointed to announce that Yabusame on the Beach 2016 will not be held as part of the Port Douglas Carnviale in May this year. This is due to the NEW management having disregarded YOB and not having factored it into their event brief or budget !!!!!!!! The fact that it draws over 5000 people onto the wonderful 4 Mile Beach, is hugely popular with locals and tourists alike and its fantastic images blast all around the world promoting the region seems to have been overlooked. We are sorry to the international competitors that had planned to attend this year. And a HUGE THANK YOU to all the wonderful horses and their owners, sponsors, volunteers and spectators who have supported us and this event in the past years.
23.01.2022 Vale Lil Lucy. Today we learnt one of our Yabusame stars has crossed the rainbow bridge. Our hearts go out to Kaia and Sophie xxxxx . Lucy has won more Medals at this event than any other horse to date carrying Team Malaysia to a 1st with Din and 3rd with Linda and overall winners in 2014. At YOB 2015 Lil Lucy was ridden by Din again for a 2nd place as well she was ridden by Japan team member Hiroko. She was young Kaia's pony and totally adored by all who knew her. Thank You Kaia for letting the world get to know your wonderful pony .Lucy will be greatly missed by us all. RIP little one.
