23.01.2022 Moon madness Yin yoga is The Perfect Tonic 1 spot free Thurs 3 Sep 6pm... 1 spot free Fri 4 Sep 9.15am Dm for it to be yours Today, for the first time in three years, the September full moon is in a unique situation: it's happening so early in the month a timing that gives it an entirely different name, the corn moon, instead of the harvest moon that it sets the stage for October to have two full moons, meaning a rare blue moon will shine thisHalloween on Oct. 31. It may feel like a bit of a disruptive time, resulting in more tension, or tiredness. You may find yourself feeling anxious or emotionally upset. Research has shown that we actually sleep less on the full moon, so it's important to ensure you care for your body.

22.01.2022 Food as Medicine! I was reading Psychology Today and found an article on Turmeric and the science behind curcumin, the active polyphenol. One of the points was the poor bioavailability and how researchers are trying to manipulate the molecule for better absorption. I was struck (again!) by the sheer brilliance and knowledge of Ayurveda. ... The solution: cook the turmeric add black pepper and coconut oil! Simple, intelligent, tasty, soothing, much more economical than expensive pills. I have been helping people for some years now, through Turmeric Soothe I Ayurveda - Nature's Wisdom

17.01.2022 On Mindfulness Christopher Willard Our neural pathways form into ruts that are not always helpful. Imagine a dirt road that ambles across a meadow.... The road is worn down over the years by trucks repeatedly driving over the same tracks. We continue to drive on this path because it has been worn down and it becomes more firmly established with each pass. This is exactly why we get stuck in old thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Now imagine for a moment that a gentle rain comes and softens the whole field. With soft ground creating a fresh and more direct path is that much easier. Mindfulness is like the rain that falls on the meadow, softening the ground to make blazing a new path. Bringing it to you each week @ yoga bliss
16.01.2022 Prebiotics and probiotics each have their own role to play in the battle for better gut health. But to clear things up, here’s a handy guide for each term: Probiotics: Living strains of bacteria that add to the population of good bacteria in your digestive system. Prebiotics: Specialised plant fiber that acts as food for the good bacteria. This stimulates growth among the preexisting good bacteria.... So basically, probiotic foods add soldiers to your army, and prebiotics give the soldiers the support they need. Eating the Right Food Can Make All the Difference. Making a change in your diet is all you need to do to boost your prebiotic and probiotic intake. But eating the wrong things (like high-sugar and high-fat foods) can feed the bad bacteria in your gut and give them an advantage over the good guys. So what are the right foods to support better gut health? Here’s a list of food for both prebiotics and probiotics: Probiotics: Miss soup Sauerkraut Kimchi Kombucha Kefir (dairy and nondairy) Pickled vegetables (Keep in mind that pickles need to be unpasteurized to have probiotics.) Prebiotics: Bananas Onions Garlic Berries Legumes Beans Peas Oats Jerusalem artichokes Asparagus Dandelion greens Leeks Apple skin Chicory root

15.01.2022 Turmeric is used in Ayurveda to balance vata, pitta and kapha doshas, though in excess, it can aggravate pitta and vata. It has a particular beneficial effect forrasaandrasta dhatus (the blood and plasma of the circulatory system). It also kindlesagni (digestive fire), helping reduce kapha andama (toxins).... Its bitter and pungent taste and heating nature enable it to have a mobilizing and cleansing energy.

13.01.2022 I want to age like sea glass. Smoothed by tides, but not broken. I want my hard edges to soften. I want to ride the waves... and go with the flow. I want to catch a wave and let it carry me to where I belong. I want to be picked up and held gently by those who delight in my well earned patina and appreciate the changes I went through to achieve that beauty. I want to enjoy the journey and always remember that if you give the ocean something breakable it will turn it into something beautiful. I want to age like sea glass....... - G Stein See more

09.01.2022 She Let Go by Safire Rose She let go. She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.... She let go of the fear. She let go of the judgments. She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head. She let go of the committee of indecision within her. She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons. Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go. She didn’t ask anyone for advice. She didn’t read a book on how to let go. She didn’t search the scriptures. She just let go. She let go of all of the memories that held her back. She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward. She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right. She didn’t promise to let go. She didn’t journal about it. She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer. She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper. She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope. She just let go. She didn’t analyze whether she should let go. She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter. She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment. She didn’t call the prayer line. She didn’t utter one word. She just let go. No one was around when it happened. There was no applause or congratulations. No one thanked her or praised her. No one noticed a thing. Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go. There was no effort. There was no struggle. It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad. It was what it was, and it is just that. In the space of letting go, she let it all be. A small smile came over her face. A light breeze blew through her. And the sun and the moon shone forevermore See more
