15.01.2022 Please join me in congratulating Laura Wilkinson in completing her 300-hour Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training! Laura is a wonderful new yoga teacher in her own right, but I thought it worth mentioning that she is also a 2nd generation Yoga Trinity teacher. Her mum Rosy has been an inspiration to Laura and so many of our graduates and current teacher trainees. Here's a bit of what Laura has to say about her practice and teaching:... I believe moving is one of the simplest joys and hope to deliver this through my teaching. I work as an Occupational Therapist and I’m passionate about enabling people of all backgrounds to live their best lives and believe health and wellness is a big component of this. I have also trained as a personal trainer and barre instructor which inspires aspects of my yoga teaching. Yoga provides an opportunity to escape my fast pace of life and connect the mind and body. When I’m not on the mat you will find me at home with a cup of tea, in comfy pants with my cat Arthur! Congratulations to you Laura, and a big welcome to the Yoga Trinity Family! ps I can confirm that Arthur is adorable and a very vocal advocate for yoga.

12.01.2022 https://www.academia.edu//Neurophysiological_and_neurocogn? Not a new paper (May 2015) but popped up in my inbox so I thought I'd share this paper on YBP (Yoga Based Practices) for an overview of current research: "We propose that compared to mindfulness-based practices, the rich set of movement, breath and attention components employed in YBP may more directly engage the vagal afferent system as well as BG and cerebellar circuits, with consequent possibly enhanced effects ...on autonomic, emotional and cognitive regulation. In sum, we believe in the importance and potential of future research investigating the mechanisms underlying YBP, so that they may be more effectively adapted and applied in various clinical, educational and recreational settings. The theoretical framework presented in our paper is by no means exhaustive, but only intending to represent a starting point from which specific hypotheses for future research can be formulated. We hope that it will inspire further work in the field with the ultimate aim of unveiling the full potential of YBP in modern contexts." (note: I'm no academic/scientist, so would love to hear from those of you who are!)

07.01.2022 Please join me in congratulating Jo Hincks in completing her 300-hour Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training. Having Jo on course has been such a gift, with her wealth of knowledge in healthcare, plus her great curiosity in studying yoga, we have all learned so much studying with her. Here's a little of what Jo has to say about what yoga means to her: "To me, yoga encapsulates the universe, and the very essence that is the natural order of the world we live in and what it is to ...be fundamentally human and alive: It offers me refuge from the excessive stimulation we create and surround ourselves with. Yoga provides answers, giving meaning and reason for matters from the most simplistic and extending to enquires of a more complex nature. There is a sanctuary to be found in yoga, a true space in which safety and security is realized. Yoga generates room for opportunity, providing empowerment and creating choice. It fosters enquiry and a warmth and kindness that promotes trust and acceptance. There is validation that the world really is a wonderful place that is full of magic if you are willing to receive and find it. And possibly one of the most profound considerations of the meaning of yoga for me, is that it allows permission; permission to fail, to be vulnerable, to be fearful, to speak up and all of the other important and challenging human experiences that we need but otherwise resist." Thank you for joining us on this adventure, Jo, all of us at the Yoga Trinity family offer you our congratulations and best wishes in your new teaching practice! #yogateachertrainingadelaide #yogateachersadelaide #vinyasaflowadelaide #congraduations #yogatrainingadelaide
06.01.2022 Big News I'm happy to report that Yoga Alliance has extended their provision for online/adapted yoga teacher training programs through 2021. So, that means I can officially confirm that our January Adapted Online Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training will be registered through Yoga Alliance. I'm in the midst of my 3rd Online Teacher Training now, and while there have been challenges in making the transition this year, I'm really enjoying the chance to make the course more acc...essible. As a person living with a lot of pain, I've struggled the past few years to attend trainings as a student as I'm not able to sit on the floor for long periods, and the intensity of in-person trainings can be really draining. For people living with injuries or disability, living remotely, or with schedules that don't allow for taking large blocks of time away from work, home or family, the online training is a fantastic option. I'm so grateful for this opportunity to be able to share a course with people of all ages, backgrounds, and lifestyles that is more accessible, offers more time and space for learning, practicing, integrating, and processing of the studies. And, I love being able to be 'in' student's homes, meet their kids and pets, and have a great community experience. The Course In Brief This course mirrors our 300-hour Level 1 face-to-face program and includes all the same elements of the program, plus some great extras! The next course will include: Self-Paced Online Study you can begin anytime 12 Zoom live video workshops so we can see and hear each other in real time Recorded Zoom sessions if you miss a workshop, or want to go back and review Bonus workshop on Yoga Business 6 private mentoring sessions Recorded audio lectures that you can take with you to listen anywhere Practical assignments that you can work on alone, with friends or family, or with study buddies from the course. Weekly Zoom yoga classes just for teacher trainees, begin upon registration and, the added bonus of learning to teach yoga online (which looks to be a strong trend for the future!) Dates: Jan 30-31 Feb 6-7, 13-14, 20-21, 27-28 Mar 13-14 Bonus Mar 27 Yoga Business Discussion Time: 8:00-11:00am (Canberra time) Cost: Early Bird $3,600 (Nov 1) Concession $3,200 (concession card holders, or anyone who has lost work during the shutdown) Full: $4,000 Payment Plans Available Yoga Australia (300-hours), Yoga Alliance (RYT-200), Fitness Australia 15 CECs https://yogatrinity.com//adapted-online-vinyasa-flow-yoga/
05.01.2022 And...Today's harvest. Got a bit too much sun in the garden though so processing will have to wait while I go lie down #goodiesfromthegarden #gardeningismyyoga
04.01.2022 Please join me in congratulating Tracey Eppelstun on her successful completion of her 300-hour Vinyasa Flow Yoga Teacher Training certificate! Tracey has added this to her long list of fitness, yoga, and pilates qualifications, and we all learned so much from her experience and professionalism during our course. Here's a bit of what Tracey has to say about her journey in yoga so far:... "Yoga to me, at this present moment, is an amazing world of learning, self-exploration, self-nourishment and knowledge that will be an ongoing life journey that I wish to share. Yoga teacher training is where my broader understanding of the philosophical components of yoga has been unleashed. My perception of yoga being predominantly about physical movement to strengthen and stretch our bodies and unwind busy minds, while partly true, has been expanded exponentially to realise asanas are just one component of a beautiful holistic way of life that encompasses how to nourish my mind, my body, my spiritual growth and others in my life. My world has been truly transformed through this experience." I hope if you are in Canberra you get a chance to join one of Tracey's classes! Congratulations again Tracey - it's such a pleasure to be sharing this yoga adventure with you, and all of us in the Yoga Trinity family are wishing you the very best! #yogateacherscanberra #canberrayogateachers #canberrayogateachertraining #vinyasaflowcanberra #yogaaustralia #yogaalliance #fitnessaustralia
