22.01.2022 A little prototype. The outside of this cup is hand painted and left unglazed allowing you to enjoy the tactile feel of the clay. In contrast, the inside is glazed with smooth white gloss. Having a drink from something handmade brings a whole new experience. 19.01.2022 The most challenging part of our yoga practice is stepping on the mat. Once youre on the mat, everything just flows. This was what our yoga practice looked like today. A few pregnant mums, some mums came with one toddler, some with two toddlers, some mums came alone, and the teacher brought her dog because her dog is unwell. 18.01.2022 Ok, so this is my version of a berry bowl and I made this with my children in mind. Holes are made at the sides making washing and draining easy-peasy (my 6 year old can attest to this), especially for blueberries that love to float. More importantly, no holes at the bottom so no drips of water all over the kitchen or table , and no need for a separate dish to catch any excess water. 11.01.2022 Snowflake in a bowl This piece is hand-thrown on the wheel with beautiful sand-coloured, slightly speckled Australian clay. The snowflake inside is hand painted with a white glaze before the interior is glazed entirely with a clear gloss. The outside is freehand painted with 5 layers of white glaze to achieve that organic look; like melting snow. 07.01.2022 This design, that I call Stilts on Water, is inspired by our family trip to a Kelong in the Riau Islands early this year. Kelong is a Malay word for a wooden offshore platform, supported by wooden stilts, built primarily for fishing. Despite the stilts being thin, together they are strong enough to support the structure from rough seas and weather.
