16.01.2022 31 October ~ Halloween or Beltane? Traditionally Halloween, or Samhain, was a celebration of the end of harvest and signalled that winter or the darker half of the year was coming. It is associated with death and the thinning if the veil. Beltane is a celebration of fire, passion, fertility of the year ahead. It signals the height if spring and celebrates the summer to come. Beltane is about life... In the Northern hemisphere, Samhain is celebrated on 31 October, but for us in the Southern hemisphere, Halloween occurs on 1 May in terms of their connection with the seasons. For me, I love connecting in with the seasons so I chose to celebrate Beltane, rather than Halloween on 31 October. Today in particular I acknowledge and give gratitude to those parts of my life that bring passion, joy and fulfilment. I won't lie, it took me a little while to figure out what it meant If you've ever practiced with me (or had me try to give you directions while driving) you'll probably know I'm not great with my left and right. This can sometime be tricky if I'm trying to mirror what everyone else is doing during a yoga practice. I always try to embrace this part of me I'm working on. Its a beautiful reminder that none of us a perfect and we've all ...got stuff we're working on. Whether it's your lefts and rights or something a little bigger. 06.01.2022 Felt so incredible blessed to spend world mental health day in this beautiful environment, meditating and sitting in a circle of divine women and men. Our mental and emotional health is so important and taking time out to spend with mother nature can be so nourishing for the soul. Another way I look after my mental health is limiting my screen time so I can be more present and enjoy the whatever is occurring in front of me. Even if this means I didn't post about world menta...l health day on the 10/10 Another way I take care of my mental health is physical exercise. Obviously yoga is a big part of how I love moving my body. I love how yoga makes me feel and how I can move mindfully with my breath and learn more about my body and what I am capable of.
