17.01.2022 Reframing the Mind for Positivity In daily life I often find myself ‘living yoga’. By that I mean I choose to weave yoga philosophy into everyday life in a most practical and beneficial way.... Today our household was perfectly quiet. I’ve been wanting to record some guided meditations for some time now and decided that I’d make the most of this unusually peaceful time. I set up my laptop, recording software & microphone and planned what I was going to record. Just as I was about to begin, a neighbour began drilling and hammering, loudly! I’ll be honest, my immediate reaction was one of disgruntledness, but after a few moments I reminded myself that this is life. We cannot always control the circumstances around us (no matter how hard we might try!), but we can experience peace of mind when we choose to be adaptable and cultivate a more positive mindset. I like our new neighbour and don’t want to wish him ill will, so I reframed my mindset and instead of being resentful of the noise, I gave thanks the activity began BEFORE my recording session, rather than during it. As soon as I made this mental choice, I felt a softness come over me an accepting of the circumstance, instead of a resentfulness to it. Living life can often be like this... learning to make peace - if we so choose - with that which we cannot change. Now I feel content, and instead of recording a meditation, I’m going to make chocolate almond & goji-berry slice instead! I trust a quiet opportunity for recording meditations will present itself in the near future Wishing you peace of mind, Jacqui x

09.01.2022 Teaching yoga is one of my greatest joys! This week I've been sharing an early-morning yoga program with a group of delightful people... all via Zoom! It's a marvel that so much can be conveyed in this way, and that it's still entirely possible to still get some feeling of 'group energy' via an online platform.... Since moving to Melbourne 2 years ago, I've been on the lookout for a place to teach yoga from. Who knew it would take a pandemic to mix things up; where now it's considered entirely normal to teach online! I'm in excited anticipation for what's to come. How liberating to realise I don't need to live near my tribe to still be able to share with them #homestudio #yogaathome #tribe

09.01.2022 "Yoga, meditation and controlled breathing are "some tried and true ways to relax"...

It's on all weekend, all this week and concludes next weekend. I hope you find some gems of wisdom in this also.

07.01.2022 Each day I start the day with yoga & meditation, a walk and a healthy breakfast. It feels so good to start each day in this way... 3 'wins' even before the day has really begun!

02.01.2022 With so many people experiencing sleep issues these days, this could be of use if you're having difficulty falling, or getting back, to sleep.

02.01.2022 In this mornings guided mediation practice we worked with conscious breathing.... Inhale for a count of 4 to bring in energy & life force.... Pause the breath and experience depth of Self and life... Exhale for a count of 6 to release, relax and 'let go'... Pause with 'empty' breath to experience the still, blissful state of 'no-thing-ness' ... (then repeat) Find a few minutes to pause and experience this calm, steady influence for yourself
