25.01.2022 Hey, hey Yogis, How are you doing? I wanted to let you know about a couple of changes for Sunday's Chakra Balancing Mini-Retreat.... In light of the current situation we find ourselves in: instead of 3 hours, which some people might find tricky to set aside in their own home, I've shortened it to 2.5 hours. In terms of the exchange, I am now offering a sliding scale of "Pay what you can". Below is the link to the booking page with all the updated info. 25.01.2022 ~ Who loves a good Downward Dog? ... ~ I know first thing in the morning, nothing quite beats the s t r e t c h y goodness all over the body of the first Downward Dog ~ This week, we are getting back to basics. Paring it back, slowing it down. This doesnt necessarily mean easier either. Yoga is not just about stretching. Its also about strengthening the body and mind ~ So if you feel like really tapping into time spent exploring a simpler practice, hop online and book now.. A great practice to check in with how each pose feels in the body and at the same time, strengthening and increasing the bodys flexibility. Wednesday 6pm Basis Yin - A back to basics yin practice - slow, delicious, simple yet having a powerful effect on the body. Thursday 12pm - Yang and Yin - building on our previous two practices. Now that weve pared it back, its time to mix it all together. A dynamic practice to begin, warming the body up. Gradually s l o w i n g it down to a cooler yin state. 24.01.2022 ~ Are you resting enough? ~ Since going online, I have been totally energised teaching, editing the videos, preparing and practising for classes. Ive been loving it ... ~ But I noticed in the last couple of weeks that I was feeling absolutely wrecked. My energy levels were low, my eating habits had turned to shite and I felt like Id lost a bit of my sparkle ~ So the last week, I have upped my resting, self-care and self-love habits by 100%. Im taking it easier in the mornings resting in my warm bed, meditating, journaling and reading. Taking more breaks during the day. Stopped buying crap food!! Paying more attention to when I need to rest ~ Practising self-care is an ongoing thing. And we often need reminding of it. 18.01.2022 ~Are you resting enough? ~... This is a time of massive transition and transformation. It can be tiring, exhausting even. The crystal clear message that Ive received in my tarot readings over the last few days is: Rest, withdraw, surrender. Know that everything will be ok and it is more than ok to just BE instead of constantly DOING. If you are already feeling overwhelmed and exhausted, doing more is only going to exccerbate the problem. 17.01.2022 ~Feeling the Whole Body ~... A powerful but simple practice is to try maintain presence in the body continuously throughout the day. Feel the body as a whole. The mind is worse than a crazed monkey, jumping from one thing to the next; it has a hard time focusing on one thing. But the body is a source of experience more stable and constant, and using it as an anchor for awareness will help the minid to grow calmer and more focused. 13.01.2022 ~ Have you ever wondered how to sit up? ~ Most likely not, right? Well, how DO we sit up? One of the muscles involved in getting us upright, is the psoas muscle. It originates on both the thoracic and lumbar spine and inserts to the top of the femur or thigh bone. When we want to sit up, it contracts and pulls the spine closer to the legs. 13.01.2022 ~ Can I get a hell yeah? ~ How often do we put something off or take waaaay too much time doing something because we want it to be perfect? ... ~ I remember building my first website five years ago and it took me three months. Granted, Im not #techsavvy so there was a steep learning curve. But towards the end, I just thought fuck it, its great the way it is and hit publish! The relief! ~ There is no such thing as perfect, so striving for something that doesnt exist, well who wants to waste their time on that kind of activity?! ~ Id love to hear your experiences of #doneisbetterthanperfect

08.01.2022 ~ How often do you twist? ~ Turning your head, reaching diagonally across a table, turning to get some precious toilet paper whilst on the throne all twists that we deliberately or subconsciously do on the daily ... ~ What are the benefits of twists you might ask, apart from the obvious functional answers to the movements above: * Increases space between the vertebrae along the spine * Increases energy levels * Increases nutrition to the intervertebral disks * increases circulation by squeezing blood out of the internal organs of abdomen and pelvis ~ The first two classes this week are going to be twist-focused; Tuesdays Twist and Flow; Wednesdays Yin and Flow (by request of one of my lovely online members) #askandthoushaltreceive ~ So if you feel like you need some twisty goodness in your life, why not join us for our Live-Stream classes this week

04.01.2022 ~In these uncertain times, what does privilege mean to you? ~... This is not an exhaustive list or in order; to me, privilege is: Your job is secure; Having a job that is doable from home; If you have a partner, their job is secure; Having money in the bank to pay rent; Having money in the bank to buy food; Having money in the bank to do online classes; Being healthy; Having a roof over your head; Sharing a home with someone or people that you love; Having space within your home to self-isolate, if necessary; Having a car with ability to fill the tank with petrol; Friend (s) that you can reach out to for support; Having the awareness and mental capacity to realise the above and many other things are a privilege. ~ So, before you share another inspirational post about NOW being the best time to learn that second language, or an instrument or start a side hustle, or a second side hustle, or do that course that youve been meaning to do, or spring clean your house, perhaps you could PAUSE and think that these things are a privilege. If you are able to do these things, wonderful! Seriously, it really is. And you are most likely able to do that from a place of privilege not having to worry about any of the above too much. You have the space and the mental capacity to turn your mind to new things. ~ If you feel that sharing an inspirational post that if someone isnt doing any/all of the above, it means that they are lazy or undisciplined then again, you might PAUSE and consider, it is helpful? I would vehemently disagree that these types of posts are. Many people are struggling not just financially, but also mentally to even get out of bed in the morning. Add on top of that these posts about taxing your brain power even more is harmful and shaming. ~ It took me about two weeks to recover from whats happened in the world. It was a deep dive to process this loss and grief and worry. I am so grateful and feel priviliged that I have the ability to do my work from home. And doing my work from home is what I need to keep me focused at this time. I dont know whether Ill have the mental capacity to finish all those courses that Ive started. All I know is that it is taking a whole heaps of mental strength and focus to do what Im doing, from my very lucky place of privilege. ~ So please, be mindful of what youre sharing out there. Share from a place of love and compassion, if you can. And if you are struggling, please DM me, I am ready to listen.
