17.01.2022 So what is with this card thing??? My first experience with a card deck was when I was a teenager and I had a Psychic reading. I never said a word and this woman used a myriad of tools and techniques to not only tell me exactly how I was feeling but the consequences of both paths I was ultimately stuck choosing. I walked out of that reading with an insight I knew was what my heart and inner self had been trying to tell me all along. It ment making a tough choice and going th...rough emotional pain, but it was all worth it. Tarot Cards- Angel Cards-Oracle Cards... there are so many beautiful card decks out there!! They are a TOOL to help you decipher your self, a self enquiry, they allow guidance, wisdom, messages and a way for you to self help yourself. ( or tothers) After dad passed I would often turn to the random decks I had and pull myself a card to help me self soothe, later I used them for questions and inspiration, and now I also use them as a Tool with my yoga massage or reiki sessions. They also help you do develop trust in your intuition. 13.01.2022 Im tired of hearing people say they cant "do yoga" when they havent even tried! Im tired of people having had 1 bad experience mentally dismissing "yoga". Im tired of people thinking that Yoga is about flexibility. Get real. There are so many styles and types of yoga for you to try! ... Get out there and enjoy the smorgasboard variety. Every teacher shares the practise in their own way and style, and from their heart, experience and training. Its best to know your body and have an opportunity to listen and feel it as you move mindfully through poses, to be aware of the breathe, to allow space for the mind to settle, to open your energy centres and clear the stagnant energy. My advice is find the style and teacher that suits you right now and dont be afraid to explore and grow! Focus on base foundations first and then go with the flow. Who cares what your yoga friend can do and focus on what you FEEL. I teach from a combination of my own practise, training and experience and in a calm gentle manner (often with a side of humour). Try a class or a private. 09.01.2022 Happy Monday with a Downward dog! I was mentally mortified as it took all my strength sanity and focus to simply create feel and hold this posture! To start with I hated downward dog- it felt embarrassing having my bottom in the air and trying to make a V shape with my body. What was I doing? As if in "rest" in this shape before flowing some more into other postures and the sequence.... Fast forward a few years and I can ease my heels to the ground, straighten my back more and actually hold this downward dog longer than 5 seconds. Amazing. The best thing about Yoga is that you feel your body, each and every day it's different and you can simply just accept and allow your body to be where its at, using the posture as a benchmark to self asses insightfully. 07.01.2022 What an amazing feeling. If you told me years ago I would be facilitating guided meditations I'd have looked at you like you were a nutter. But alas I am the nutter! It's even in my name DA-NUT-A ! My first experience of group meditations simply saw me falling asleep and waking near the end... then feeling left out as everyone else recalled such wonderful experiences! I persisted and eventually managed to stay conscious all the way through.... Holding space and using myself as a tool to help others relax/breathe/centre/settle/calm and experience themselves like never before... It's is nothing short of a privilege. A humble host must allow one's own mind and ego to step aside and simply be a medium for the insightful guidance that passes through. To trust and flow, knowing that every person will receive exactly what is needed at the time. Group meditation is powerful when all those have open hearts and honest intentions to be of service to themselves and to others.
