25.01.2022 our kids love their yoga. Term starts next week.

19.01.2022 It is true..we are on holi-days. Vera found a nice corridor in the apartment for ekapada sirsasana. Sunset off our deck. Hope you Monday night yogis are on your mat at home.

18.01.2022 When you want petrol, but the cow won't move... in India you have to wait. You can't prod the cow. The cow is sacred. You just have to wait. When it comes to teaching kids yoga there is quite a lot of waiting until they are ready to move. Something in them wakes up and they want to do what the other kids are doing. They want to have the fun that the others are having and the fun outweights the fear of not being able to do the pose. In our 8 week term for children 8 to 11 years, we take a lot of care to support kids to find the fun in learning and feeling okay to just have a go at things. The kids gain a lot physically in terms of posture and strength, and they also learn how to rest into themselves during relaxation. Our term starts next week and we have a few places available.

06.01.2022 When a teenager comes to you for guidance how are you going to respond? They are almost grown.. you can't make them do what you think. They have to work it through to a place where they can act. They will reap the consequence of action and this is how they will learn. Did you know that yoga teaches us that the body is an instrument that nature has given us and that our relationship with our body teaches us what we are to do. Our teens class on a Monday starts next week and we have a few places left. We run the progam as an 8 week term so that we build a trusting environment where teens feel safe to learn.

03.01.2022 Hello from Sydney. Amazing to be here. Here as part of an assessment panel. It is striking that candidates years of practice ranges from 11 to 17 years. Devotional people we Iyengar mob. So much care and support is given each candidate. It is a powerful rite of passage. Feeling blessed to be part of the Iyengar lineage.
