But it's not the case elsewhere in the world, & I implore all of us to not forget that elsewhere, woman are 2nd class citizens. They continue to die in childbirth, 4m have been SOLD into sex slavery, child brides are still being forced into marriage, girls genitals are still being mutilated because they may enjoy sex & lead a man to rape - peeing & childbirth collateral damage & education is still inaccessible to so many. 09.01.2022 Please get your skin checked. Due to my own complacency, I now have 3 melanomas & a bcc on my face. All to be surgically removed this week. An excerpt from my weekly email... Heres my story.... After Thursdays Yoga class, I went to have mine re-checked, 15 months after I was told to come back to have a few spots zapped. Its not urgent yet I was told but re-book your appointment on your way out. Well, I didnt until I did, and I left it so long I had to get a new referral. On Thursday, I went and was cut and deeply stitched in two areas to remove dodgy-looking spots and biopsied into two other places, all of which were sent to pathology. Im feeling a little sore and sorry for myself at the moment with deep wounds on my butt and back. On Friday, I received the call while grocery shopping, and told 3 out of 4 of these spots are now melanoma. The 4th is a basal cell carcinoma (not as bad, but on my face) and to book in for surgery with a plastic surgeon as soon as possible. I am going in on Wednesday to have them all taken out. This means I will have to have a break from Yoga for approx 4 weeks to heal. No matter how time poor you are, or how well you feel, there are just somethings you shouldn't over look. Without your health, you have nothing. Stay safe. X Details to follow.

09.01.2022 Thanks for all the beautiful messages. I'm deeply touched. I'm home, not yet sore, but drained. The 2 urgent melanomas dug out & 2 more to go. I couldn't do all 4, given I'd have to lay on my wounds to do my thigh & forehead. More of a yoga break than expected. Can't sit for a few days.

08.01.2022 A block or a pillow is needed for this week's classes! We are going to focus our attention on stretching AND strengthening the quadratus lumborum muscles. The paired muscle on lower back to the side of the spine. If you consistently sit for long periods or favour one hip or one leg, its important to move regularly to loosen up these crucial muscles.... A regular yoga practice is a great way to gently ease into the lower back, to practively strengthen the body, stabilize and align the muscles of the spine, and to stretch out evenly. Join me this week. Spine practices always make you leave feeling ah-mazing. 02.01.2022 We are being told all the external factors to protect us from Covid-19: wear masks, socially distance, wash your hands, disinfect, etc (all relevant). We're waiting for THE vaccine to stop it. (yet still the common cold has no cure, we could be waiting a long time). But not many people are talking to us about the internal factors to support our immune health.... No, it's not the cure, nor will it stop you catching it - but it can give you a fighting chance to stop the virus from taking its vicious hold. Every virus needs a susceptible host. You are the host, and you need to support & protect yourself. The path from the point of infection can vary enormously. The body's immune system is critical for determining this. Having a strong immune response during the incubation period can prevent the infection from taking hold, reduce the actual quantity of virus in the body, and prevent it from getting to the lungs. What food you put into your body matters. How much you hydrate your body matters. How much you move your body matters. How stressed are you? How fearful are you? How much sleep are you getting? Refocus on the whole picture - because you are responsible,. Good nutrition supports the body throughout life - from birth to old age. A clean diet supports an effective immune system and may provide protection against infections, cancers, and many other diseases.
