There are many safe & accessible versions available to everyone!... One of the many benefits of inversions is increased immunity. The lymphatic system is a crucial player in keeping the body healthy. As lymph moves through the body, it picks up toxins and bacteria to be eliminated by the lymph nodes. Because lymph moves as a result of muscle contractions and gravity, getting upside-down allows lymph to more easily travel into the respiratory system, where many of the toxins enter the body. 08.01.2022 I’d love to have been organised enough to have arranged an amazing and inspiring Christmas celebration for us - however as most of you know, the organiser is not my jam! In saying that I really wanted to create some kind of casual opportunity to come together and see each other outside the yoga room, celebrate our amazing community and catch up before we break for Christmas! 07.01.2022 We will be doing things a little differently this time, we will NOT be streaming our classes live via zoom. It is a lot to manage, especially with me on maternity leave and to be honest, not that many people attended live last time. We found the quality was less than we were comfortable with and many loved doing classes in their own time. So... ... What are we providing for members instead? Pre-recording classes and uploading them to the members portal, so you get higher quality video and audio for your home practice. Each week (at least) one of each type of class will be recorded and uploaded for you to watch in your own time i.e. Open Hatha, Hatha basics, Meditation, Yin, Yoga Nidra We will be providing classes of differing durations between 20 and 60 minutes to make them more realistic for home practice. We are also considering running an outdoor class with a maximum of 9 people in accordance with the allowance for group exercise classes outdoors for up to 10 people (including the teacher). All ACTIVE members have already been emailed access to the members area with our extensive library of pre-recorded classes (from when the studio went online last year). Please let us know if you have not received this information by 9pm this evening or have any trouble accessing. "I will be offering a Sarvanga Sdhana, that is to say, a full, juicy 90-minute practice {my favourite!} We will dive into movement, meditation, Pryma, mantra, kriyas & mudras. During our time together, we will explore the Pryma sheath, comprised of the five primary Vayus {5 winds - Vayu means to carry or move} What are the Vayus you speak of? The Vayus make possible all cellular functions, all neuronal activity, fluid pulsation and metabolic activity. In fact, the Vayus suggest the pulsation and dynamic functioning of all life itself within the matrix of 72,000 Nadis {energetic rivers that run through you}. Through yoga and pryma, we become intimate with Sukshma Shirira, our subtle body and activate or mitigate the power of each Vayu. Due to stress, anxiety, nervous tension, digestive issues and postural instability, the Vayus can become easily unbalanced.
