13.01.2022 How do I approach my classes? One of my principles: Yoga asanas are not so much about the shape, but about the sensation on the body and the particular force we execute on a specific muscle or body part. ... We use the shape as a guidance to get into the pose, but it is important to know what is the foundation (where/how to press onto the ground) and what is the direction of the pose for each specific part of the body. By doing this we get the real benefit for the body and prevent injuries. If you are not sure of your alignment in Virabhadrasana 2 (Warrior 2) check out this video. This is my very first one so it is far from being perfect. But for some time now I am choosing to do something imperfect instead of doing nothing waiting to reach perfection and the result is... I am moving forward Is there anything you want to do, but it is not "perfect" or you feel you are not 100% ready "yet"? I would say, just give it a try! My teaching style is based on these principles : Yoga is not about the shape, it is about the sensation in your body. We use the shape as a guidance to achieve the desired action and sensation that is benefitial for the body. Yoga is for every-body! You don't need to be flexible, strong, certain age or have a specific body shape/weight to practice. As long as you have a body you have all you need! While the classes are physical exercise, I aim to deliver yoga in its full meaning, sharing yogic knowledge and tools that have helped me to "live better". The physical practice will also train your mind so you will see benefits beyond the physical aspect. WHAT ARE THESE CLASSES ABOUT? Restorative: A class to gently stretch the body to release tension, with poses that are held for a longer period and mostly on the floor ideally with the use of props. Beginners welcome. Hatha Flow: Traditional yoga asanas at a gentle pace with great focus on alignment. We incorporate seated as well as standing postures.
