21.01.2022 2021 YOGI STRENGTH KICKSTART CHALLENGE - Goal 5 Our LAST challenge this week! A post dinner pose or a morning kickstart! WARRIOR 3 (virabhadrasana III) - GOAL: 1 MINUTE! ... POST your time in the COMMENTS and tag your yogi challenge buddy Some little giveaways to happen this TOMORROW for those that have commented! Warrior 3 strengthens the whole back body, including the shoulders, hamstrings, calves, ankles, and back. It also tones and strengthens the abdominals and improves balance, posture, and full-body coordination. WOW! Use those blocks for a little added support! #proplove Keep shoulders, hips, and heel of lifted foot in 1 long line, working towards the 'T' shape. Move like a sea-saw! Engage lifted leg and foot. Both glutes firing! Both hips stay level (try balancing something on the low back!) 05.01.2022 2021 YOGI STRENGTH KICKSTART CHALLENGE - Goal 4 Giving our bodies that little strength kickstart and setting a baseline for our upcoming classes. WARRIOR 2 (virabhadrasana II) - GOAL: 2 MINUTES! (Our longest hold so far!!)... POST your time in the COMMENTS and tag your yogi challenge buddy Some little giveaways to happen this Friday! Warrior 2 is a full body pose that helps to strengthen the legs and ankle, while opening ing up the hips and chest. For this longer hold let your arms relax by your sides... or kn the evening bevvie (video filmed while waiting for hubby to pick up more wine ) Take a wider stance! Roughly one leg distance between your feet. Front toes forward and back heel drops to parallel with the back of your mat align front heel to back arch (traditilnal) or heel to heel (a wider and more stable stance for some) Keep bent knee over the ankle and also in line with you 2nd toe. Engage that outer hip!!! Don't let your knee fall in. Ground blade side edge of that back door and breaaaaaathe LOWER THOSE HIPS!! Trying to get thigh parallel to the floor. You may need to take a longer stance! For an added challenge add your arms into the mix! AMAZING WORK SO FAR! 1 challenge to go before our first Flow n Stretch of 2021 this Saturday! Excited cause I miss your faces!
