25.01.2022 Looking forward to teaching partnered yoga tomorrow to the broadbeach kindy kids, im sure its going to be a blast and a good giggle :) partnered yoga can help to develop new friendships and make exsisting ones stronger. Doing yoga with a buddy can build on communication skills and develop trust. Some of the poses we are doing will help stretch our legs/glutes, inner thighs and outter. We will also be adding some twists, which help move along any old food/trapped wind and toxi...ns etc out of our digestive system and bring fresh new blood to all the organs as we release from the twist all while giggling and tangling up. Think of ringing out a wet tea towel! :) we will also be doing a easy inversion, legs up in the air. Inversions are good for taking the pressure off of our hearts, letting the blood flow in the opposite direction, letting our brains benefit from the extra blood flow having benefits such as improved concebtration, lifting stress and tension and allows the body and mind to fully relax. candle pose is a lovely restorative pose i know the kids will enjoy! Im so looking forward to out giggly partnered practice tomorrow Xx See more

25.01.2022 In light of all this wonderful rain we have had, we decided to leave our sensory walk for when the sun is shining and go on a rainy adventure instead! We were little seeds today that burrowed in the soft earth and with lot’s of rain, sunshine and soft wind we sprouted in to beautiful fruit tree’s. Some of the poses we practiced today were Child’s pose (seed) this pose is very calming and relaxing and lets our spine stretch in a C shape. Some of the children chose this asana t...o relax in while others chose Shavasana, (laying down arms legs stretched out). We also practiced Tree pose again, the children are becoming more familiar with this pose now and its great for balancing and grounding. After our practice we had a thinking game to try, I put some shells, beads and gemstones in a box and the children had to guess what was in there. This excerise build’s anticipation and different feeling’s of excitement, nervousness, frustration to know whats int the box and then of course discovering what is in the box, were they surprised, did they guess correctly, were they disappointed? This game helps to question thing’s, allows them to discover and explore different feeling’s. The Gem stones are from the earth, how amazing out earth can create such pretty stones! The children then relaxed for 5 minutes today and did incredibly well laying still and listening to a relaxing story. See more

23.01.2022 Getting pretty excited to meet and teach my new Yogi Babes this week.....23 hand made magical eye pillows to help calm some little minds in shavasana/relaxation time :) ( I pretty much fought with the sewing machine the entire time haha so dont look too closely) We are going on a yoga adventure to the jungle and I cannot wait!

20.01.2022 There’s so much more to yoga than just Asana’s/poses. Yoga also includes being as healthy as we can be physically and mentally, drinking lots of water, eating lot’s of yummy fruit and veg, being kind to ourselves and one another and also practicing mindfulness. I’m very excited and looking forward to introducing a sensory walk for our yogi babes class next week with the help from the wonderful teachers at Broadbeach Kindy. We will take our senses and feeling’s on an adventur...e using our feet walking on different textures. Research shows that sensory play builds nerve connection in the brains pathway’s which leads to the child’s ability to complete more complex learning task’s as well as supporting cognitive growth, fine motor skills and social interaction. Practicing mindfulness, such as when the children concentrate and become aware of their feet touching different textures ect has a very positive effect on mental health and well being. Mindfulness helps to regulate emotions and feel compassion and empathy. Simply put mindfulness is being fully present with what is in front of you, in the here and now. With frequent practice for a child or adult it can have endless positive benefitsFeeling less stressed is quite a good one mums and dad’s :) Keep a look out for our wonderful yoga adventure next week!

20.01.2022 Butterly pose or Baddha Konasana (BAH-dah cone-AHS-anna) is a gentle hip opener. I love doing this pose with children as its easy and fun. Gently moving the knees up and down to "let the butterly fly" or can even be a seagull at the beach, or opening a treasure chest. The possibilities of imagination joined with asanas are endless to make yoga fun and engaging for children, all while gaining the amazing effects for the body and mind . Im so looking foward to teaching new yogi babes again in the coming weeks!

15.01.2022 Today i got to meet the beautiful children of 2018 Broadbeach Kindergarten and guided them on a yoga journey...to the Jungle! We had fun meeting an elephant, being trees with in the rainforest and also meeting the king of the jungle, a lion. we climbed vines to the top of the mountain were we seen a butterfly and We met a cheeky monkey while eating at the top of the mountain, who stole our Banana and then rode a bicycle all the way down the mountain back home. Some of the pose...s we practiced today were a challenge to our balance, also strengtheing and stretching. We practiced our yogi breath. Then listened to some rain forest music laying down while relaxing with our magic bean bags resting gently on our eyes. We named and tensed all our body parts and relaxed each one to help our bodies and minds relax. The children listened and followed so well. I look forward to our next yoga adventure soon, You all did brilliantly! See more
