24.01.2022 Why I created Happy HR Since starting Yolk Agency I have conducted a large number of HR consultations for many large and small businesses. During these consultations, I discovered that many of these businesses had a lot of anxiety about HR and the way they performance managed their staff. Although our HR division of Yolk Agency was successful, I felt that there should be a cloud based product that would enable companies to better manage their HR. After researching a range o...f products, none really suited the needs of my clients so I made it my mission to develop a product to take care of my clients needs and HR anxieties. So, I developed Happy HR. Its a cloud based software that takes away clients HR anxiety, and it does this for a low fixed monthly fee that is literally the cost of half a coffee a day! The result after 12 months of development, lots of testing, compliance checks, late nights and lots of coffee is a software product that Im really proud of. Our easy to use software - that can be used on any device anywhere - enables clients to be a best practice organisation by always having up to date, legally compliant human resource policies that are aligned to your individual companys culture, goals and values. Clients can view their organisational chart, which allows them to track how each individual and department is performing. Clients can create position descriptions that clearly outline the performance indicators, core competencies, experience and education required for each role. Happy HRs performance management process will help foster maximum employee engagement by enabling business managers to effectively and fairly measure staff performance to drive continuous improvement. Staff induction is now easy. Clients can send a letter of offer, allow new recruits to read and review workplace policies and then finally accept the role. Via an easy to use individual dashboard in a list or grid view, management and employees can see their own information, what performance indicators have been or need to be achieved, historical information, S.M.A.R.T goals and development plans. 01.01.2022 Are you a scary boss? How do you know if you are a scary boss? Heres a simple example - Your staff leave the kitchen every time you make your morning coffee. It is a statistical fact that businesses that employ scary bosses will cause employees become disengaged, take more sick leave and even quit their jobs. Its true many employees dont leave jobs they leave managers. So, what makes someone a scary boss? Here are a few traits that will foster a negative perception of you... from your employees. Super stressed out scary boss It can be very scary when a business has demands and the boss cant handle the stress and begins barking orders and making everyone feel like theyre incapable. The scary boss never makes a mistake The scary boss never admits when he or she is wrong. They are full of excuses or are very good at blaming others for their mistake. Scary boss has a closed mind and is always right The scary boss thinks that there is only one way to get something done. Any other way is completely unacceptable. The stalker scary boss Another sign of a scary boss is when they call you several times during the work day, then proceed to call you often outside business hours. The unpredictable scary boss If people cant anticipate how you will respond to a situation, they will naturally assume the worst. This type of scary boss is one of the most feared. The hoarder scary boss Scary bosses who hoard and dont share important information will frighten and frustrate their employees. The scary boss who cant trust If the scary boss regularly displays a mistrust of staff, employees wont know where they stand. When the relationship is one of mistrust the organisation will become stale as employees cant bring new ideas to the table because the scary boss often makes employees feel like there is a hidden secret agenda because youre all out to get them. The scary boss who has one finger on the trigger If someone in the organisation gets fired every time the scary boss sees a poor result or has got bad news, people will feel unduly exposed to the elements. Remember just being the boss is scary to many employees. Having the power to hire and fire can you a menacing figure. So are you a scary boss?
