25.01.2022 Well, Movember has come to a close and our Mo Bros and Mo Sistas did a brilliant job! Our Brigade raised over $1100 during Movember, with the CFS as a whole raising over $14,500. All while raising awareness about Prostate Cancer, Testicular Cancer and Mental Health amongst Aussie Blokes. Have a look at how our guys went with growing their Mo's!

20.01.2022 We’ve changed the look and colours of our warning messages that are issued when bushfires occur. It’s important that you be aware of these changes and what they mean. There are three levels of warnings with specific actions for you to take if a bushfire is in your area.

20.01.2022 A SEVERE TOTAL FIRE BAN has been declared for the YORKE PENINSULA district tomorrow, November 27th The CFS recommends that you implement your Bushfire Survival Plan. FIRE DANGER RATING... Where fire ban districts have a forecast fire danger rating of Severe, well prepared and actively defended houses can offer safety during a fire. BUSHFIRE PLAN If you don't have a plan to ensure your survival, leaving early before a fire starts is your safest option. In making your plan, you should be aware that in high fire danger conditions, essential services including mains-fed electricity and water supply may not be available due to the prevailing weather conditions. Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council. Landowners are also asked to ensure that any burn-off activities conducted today are fully extinguished before midnight tonight. Agencies are advised to activate their Total Fire Ban procedures in preparation for these predicted fire weather conditions. For further information contact the Bushfire Information Hotline on 1800 362 361 or visit www.cfs.sa.gov.au

16.01.2022 Tomorrow, November 15th, has been declared a TOTAL FIRE BAN with rating of SEVERE. It also marks the start of the Fire Danger Season for the Yorke Peninsula. Stay Safe. Stay Hydrated. Stay Informed.

06.01.2022 From SA Country Fire Service; CFS disappointed about unauthorised fireground drone use On Friday evening, crews attending the Templers fire were made aware of an unauthorised drone being flown in close proximity to the fireground.... "Firegrounds are incredibly complex and the unauthorised use of drones is not acceptable" CFS Manager of State Air Operations, Nik Stanley explained, "During the Kangaroo Island fires earlier this year, we had to ground our firebombers and aerial support because members of the public were using drones. It was a massive waste of our time and resources. "While the operator complied with the CFS's request to cease using the drone on Friday, it was an added concern that crews shouldn't have to deal with, among all their other tasks and responsibilities while attending a fire." There is a strict 5nm (9.2 km) exclusion zone for all unauthorised aircraft around firegrounds. Breaching this exclusion zone, or interfering with aerial firefighting, is illegal, and can carry heavy fines if you are found guilty. Information on the rules around drone use can be found at www.casa.gov.au/drones/rules.
