11.01.2022 Nearly 30 people attended the Bells of the Avon talk at the York Archives yesterday and enjoyed Ian’s presentation with impromptu striptease and guest speaker P...eter Mold. Ian revealed snippets of the Avon Valley’s history that many people were not aware of and we hope that this talk will be the first of many held at the York Society’s wonderful venue. If you can speak on an aspect of York’s history please let us know. See more

11.01.2022 We have been asked to help identify the family in this photograph. They are believed to have lived in York and are possibly friends or relatives of the Barrett-Lennard family. Any ideas?

05.01.2022 October 17th, 2020, 4.30pm Visit to Revd Peter Mold’s Studio It’s not often that we see a heritage building created before our eyes. The studio at the rear of the Rev Peter Mold’s house in Newcastle Street is such a building. Exquisitely constructed with wonderful brick, stone, iron and jarrah workmanship, this studio is one of the most beautiful buildings in York constructed only in the last few years. Peter Mold has invited members only to visit his studio on Saturday 17 October at 4:30 for a sundowner.
