12.01.2022 URGENT.............. below is an email I received from the City of Joondalup regarding the Covid SafeWA app, pleas follow these directions when coming into the centre. Basically download the app from SafeWA and register when entering the Centre using the QR code... ========================================= These directions come into effect this Saturday 5 December 2020 and require venue managers and hirers to maintain contact registers for WA Health Department COVID-19 contac...t tracing. This will be required at all of the City’s hireable community venues and will affect all regular and casualhirers. Further information is available on the City’s website here including the QR codes for each facility and on the State Government’s website here, however a summary of information is provided below. The City’s obligations and responsibilities. All 33 community facilities have been registered on the SafeWA contact tracing app; All community facilities will have new SafeWA posters placed at their entries and throughout the facilities before Saturday, these posters will include the SafeWA QR code relevant to that facility; and The City will collate all contact tracing registers for its community facilities and make these available to Authorised Officers as required under the Directions. Hirers obligations and responsibilities. Promote to their members, participants and attendees the contact tracing requirements; Ensure their members, participants, attendees, volunteers and staff check in using the SafeWA app each time they visit the facility; Maintain an alternative (paper or electronic) contact tracing register (further information about this is available here),for those that cannot use the SafeWA app; and Send the completed alternative contact tracing register to the City within 24 hours of the end of each function / event / booking. (please note that this is required for all bookings where an alternative contact tracing registration has occurred). ===========================================

12.01.2022 DEDICATION, COMMITTMENT & RESILIANCE. While many of us are just getting back into training, or may have been doing a few sessions over the Covid break, Keira Sa...nft has been an exception. The shutdown over Covid presented Keira with an opportunity, which she grabbed with both hands,the advent of on-line Kata Tournaments. The tournaments are run online and competitors from all over the world compete against each other in a one on one knockout style competition, with a max of 32 players per event. To date Keira has competed in 6 tournaments, including the Adidas Karate World Open Series & Spotrdata E-Tournament World Series, entering both the Female Cadet & under 18 Female category. Keira has so far achieved four 3rd places and two 5th places. Points are awarded depending on Event prestegue, number of rounds won & overall finish place and go towards a World Ranking. With result like these it is easy to see why Keira is currently ranked 11th in Cadets & 10th in Under18 Female divisions. Keira who has been training for over 10 years, also has multiple State, National & International Titles to her name.

11.01.2022 We're all looking forward to the 2020 WA State Championships this Sunday, October 18. However, we do need to share some added information as the tournament will... run slightly differently than normal (same as WA Open if you attended the previous event). As you can appreciate, these are challenging times, and we are still faced with restrictions and guidelines that we all need to follow. We are posting some of the Regulations we need to abide, and also some of the changes on the tournament format. If it didn't happen this time it just means it wasn't your time, but with added determination your time will come... A very special mention to David aka Marvel who was one of the successful karateka's. David has been training with us for over 4 years and outlasted his kids, both of whom started with him........ 01.01.2022 Congratulations to Chris, Jono & Mitch, Chris has been an integral part of our Ocean Reef group since its inception 10 years ago. It certainly wouldn't be the club it is without his help and dedication. He has continued to learn and grow as both a marital artist but also as a wonderful human being. This 3rd Dan doesn't only represent the months of training that went in to performing a fantastic grading, but the 20 years of learning behind this.......
