25.01.2022 We were delighted to be able to run the Cahoots program in 2020 with 8 truly wonderful artists / people. With so much uncertainty this year, we didn’t know if we would be able to run the residency effectively, let alone any live events. With a little bit of luck and a lot of flexibility from the Cahoots artists and our venue partners we were able to run Cahoots Lab for the first time, showing brand new work that was still in-development alongside work from last year’s Cahoots... Alumni. This little snapshot by Elly Freer captures some of the incredible output from Cahoots artists that we showed publicly in September. We were absolutely stoked to be able to venture out to Tuggeranong and Belconnen as well as situating a bunch of activity in the city and Braddon. For the first time, all of our live performances were Auslan interpreted. We’re committed to improving the accessibility of our events every year and are always hungry for your feedback around that. Although Cahoots Lab had to have some stringent capacity restrictions and many of our events were made for a micro-audience, we were so grateful that each event had an audience that was generous, engaged and up for sharing their critical feedback, which is so important when fielding work-in-development. Expressions of interest for Cahoots 2021 will open at the end of January, so be sure to check in with us then if you’re interested in applying. Big thanks to Tuggeranong Arts Centre, Belconnen Arts Centre, POP Canberra, Ainslie Gorman and Bulum Group for hosting Cahoots Lab.
