09.01.2022 You Film It is Now considering Film courses for the public. Hello everyone. Over the years I have often spoken to people about running film and photography courses designed to help them better understand how to produce better pictures and sound. Any one can buy a camera and on the surface it looks straight forward. I have a television broadcast background and I am up to 40 years in the industry. 07.01.2022 Hello everyone. Just giving a free tip to those proposing a future wedding. Over the years where I have been involved in filming wedding receptions as a profess...ional the general response to the overall feel of the venue is usually the need to be DARK! The best solution to this is to add a light show. This enhances the atmosphere for the guests and also works for the video camera. TRUE STORY Job Done. I have a true story of a bride who was dead against having a video of her wedding. The groom on the other hand wanted a video. I had a meeting with the groom to discuss a strategy on filming the wedding day. I suggested how I could cover the day by keeping my distance from the bride but also and most importantly I recommended we would add a lighting show for the function. He agreed and when the bride entered the reception she was flabbergasted when she entered a night club atmosphere. I am not suggesting this for everyone but I digress. The evening eventually came to a close and all I can say is the brides demina from the morning to the end of the night was jaw dropping. As I was filming the couple leaving in their limo the car stopped, backed up, the window wound down and the bride couldn't thank me enough for the most amazing wedding she had ever attended, It was her wedding. I hope you all enjoyed the story. I certainly won't forget this event and neither will the guests who were calling the couple over weeks that followed their day. As I have 40 years of television video production experience I am looking to do video production training for people who would like to improve their video camera skills. This would include initial instruction in basic camera settings, framing your subject, creating a story, setting the scene. shooting economically. shooting for editing, using tripods. using a video light or lights for advanced level.
