19.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS Joan Gains! Joan Gains, one of our You First Directors, and well known and loved by many of the You First family, was recently recognised for her leadership, advocacy, and for making creative contributions of significance to people with a lived experience of cerebral palsy and other childhood-onset disabilities. While most of us receiving news, they had won an award would be shouting about it from the rooftops, all Joan could say, in her usual understated way,... was Im amazed. The You First team agree with the Australasian Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AusACPDM) that there is no better winner of the inaugural Advocacy Achievement Award than Joan. Thank you and credit to Rachel Toovey for taking such a beautiful photo of Christine Imms, President of the AusACPDM and Professor of Occupational Therapy at the Australian Catholic University, presenting Joan with her award at the CRE-CP Symposium, Making a Difference.
