14.01.2022 Are you an early bird? This week's clear skies give a chance to see all five naked-eye planets at once ... as long as you're up before sunrise! The planets are ...constantly on the move, and they occasionally gather together. Just now though, they're spread across the morning sky, so get out after about 4 am to see Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Venus, plus the Moon. If you want Mercury as well, you'll need to wait until after 5:30, and towards 6 am, as twilight brightens the sky. But wait - there's more! If you can find the Moon in the morning sky on Friday, you can use it to locate Venus, if the sky is clear enough. Use the charts below, to see where to look. If you have a good digital camera, it should be possible to photograph both objects.
