09.01.2022 A huge thank you to Hand Heart Pocket the Charity of Freemasons Queensland have been generous supporters of the Youngcare QLD At Home Care Grants Program since 2016. With their latest grant of $200,000, the organisation has now provided half a million dollars to support around 90 young Queenslanders with high care needs to live with more choice, independence and dignity. 06.01.2022 Usually we like to share positive news of hope but today we have an important update. Yesterday, Scott Morrison (ScoMo) announced that the government will launc...h a Royal Commission into the quality and safety of Aged Care across the country. The inquiry comes after audits at some facilities revealed a "disturbing trend" of non-compliance and abuses in the sector. The royal commission will look at the quality of both residential and home aged care, including how young Australians with disabilities are cared for in residential facilities. With this news we are even more committed to continue to work with the private sector and government to create pathways and provide sustainable, long term solutions for those young people living in aged care. http://bit.ly/2MCFhic
05.01.2022 This morning I had the pleasure of accepting a cheque from Telstra to be used on a home automated system in our next development. This technology allows greater accessibility and therefore freedom and choice for our residents to live their lives with independence. A huge thank you to Telstra for your generosity and The TODAY Show for thinking of us. It was wonderful to have representatives from our Foundation Partner, Suncorp join us alongside Youngcare grant recipients Warrick and mother, Jocelyn and Emily.
