14.01.2022 Meet Jeannette, one of our wonderful team of volunteers who give their time to drive members of our community to medical appointments in places like Wagga, Canberra and Orange along with many more local destinations. We caught up with Jeannette when she returned from a trip to Wagga yesterday to present her with a Volunteers Week Certificate of Appreciation and badge. We thank Jeannette along with all our volunteers for their dedication to the community and invite other community members to join us in providing this vital transport service to our community.

Today Volunteer, Blue came to the rescue at short notice to head to Wagga with clients when another driver was unwell. Blue joined us for our Volunteers Week morning tea before heading off to Wagga and we where able to present him with his Volunteers Week Certificate of Appreciation and badge. We need more volunteers just like Blue and the rest of our wonderful team . If you can assist we would love to hear from you. Tomorrow morning we have a second Volunteers morning tea planned and would love anyone interested in volunteer driving to come along between 10am and 12 noon at the Marie McCormick Community Centre to meet the team and learn more about us.

06.01.2022 The NSW Government is strongly encouraging NSW citizens to wear a mask in high-risk settings to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in NSW. Wearing a face mask... provides an additional physical barrier to protect the community and help reduce community transmission. Continue to practise physical distancing, wash your hands regularly and if you are unwell stay in and get tested. For more information about the protection that masks provide against COVID-19 visit: https://www.nsw.gov.au/media-/health-advice-update-on-masks

05.01.2022 Confused about when to wear a face mask? We recommend you wear a face mask whenever you can’t physical distance. For example You can find out more here: www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/face-masks

04.01.2022 Masks don’t replace distancing or hygiene. If you’re making a cloth one, aim for three layers, with a water-repellent outside layer. Have a few for when you’re... out. Put the used ones in a plastic bag and wash at home later. Handle them safely like you would a used tissue or hanky. No masks for children under 2 yrs they’re a choking hazard. Learn how to make your own mask. For more information about the protection that masks provide against COVID-19 visit https://www.health.gov.au//coronavirus-covid-19-are-cloth-

04.01.2022 Are you unwell and having trouble getting into a Doctors appointment? Murrumbidgee Local Health District have advised that anyone in the local health area can get a virtual consultation by ringing 0259431832 between 10 am and 8pm seven days a week. Your call will be answered by a registered nurse who will complete and assessment and then organise a Telehealth consultation. This is a great new service being offered and might help the many locals who find it difficult to get an appointment when needed.

04.01.2022 On the 11th of July we celebrated Michele Johnson's retirement after 30 years of service to Weddin Community Transport along with the 30th anniversary of Community Transport in Grenfell. Past and present volunteers, clients , friends , family and Coast & Country Community Services Board members enjoyed a meal at the Bowling Club and shared stories from the last 30 years while wishing Michele all the best in her retirement. Michele and a group of her original volunteer drivers cut a cake which was made as a replica of the CT bus.

02.01.2022 Putting on and taking off a face mask is fast and easy, however it’s important that you do so safely. Watch this video as Dr Jan Fizzell explains how to correct...ly wear a mask. Face masks are strongly recommended in situations where you are unable to maintain a physical distance of 1.5 metres. The main value in wearing a mask is to protect other people. Remember that physical distancing and hand hygiene are the most important things to do right now.

01.01.2022 MLHD STAFF TO WEAR SURGICAL MASKS From today, Murrumbidgee Local Health District health workers will be wearing surgical masks if they are within 1.5m of patien...ts. Patients in hospital and community health settings will also be required to wear a mask, where possible. Carla Bailey, MLHD Incident Controller COVID-19 Health Emergency Operations Centre, said staff would wear masks as a precautionary measure as masks had proven effective in suppressing COVID-19 transmission. Please don’t become alarmed when you see a health worker wearing a surgical mask, Ms Bailey said. This is an extra precaution we are taking in order to protect our staff and the broader community, on top of a range of other infection control measures. Ms Bailey said significant long-term planning ensured that MLHD had an adequate supply of masks and staff had been trained in how to safely apply and remove masks.
